Hello Razer team,

As the title stated "Razer Chroma Visualizer not loading after Windows 11 starts". Here are the steps that I have taken in particular order.

  1. Uninstall Synapse 4 and Chroma software.
  2. Use a cleaner.
  3. Restarted/logged into Windows 11.
  4. Reinstalled Synapse 4 along with Chroma.
  5. Restarted/logged into Windows 11.
  6. Logged into the Razer app.
  7. Enabled Chroma Visualizer.
  8. Restarted/logged into Windows 11.
  9. Chroma does not start after Windows 11 login.
  10. Uninstalled Synapse 4 and Chroma.
  11. Use a cleaner.
  12. Restarted/logged into Windows 11.
  13. Installed Synapse 3 w/Chroma
  14. Sidenote/from my point of view. Synapse 3 sees Chroma as part of it's software and is able to launch decently after logging in. But Synapse 4 seems to treat Chroma as a separate software.
  15. Restarted/logged into Windows 11.
  16. Chroma works perfectly after logging into Windows 11.

Only issue found, is that Synapse 3 does not seem to recognize Barracuda X Chroma is powered on.

This is suddenly happening to me as well. I just switched from Synapse 3 to Synapse 4. Chroma and visualizer were working ok and would start on PC boot with Synapse 3. After upgrading to Synapse 4 the visualizer worked for about a day or so, as I was trying to re-set up my environment and familiarize with controls and options. But around day 3 the visualizer is no longer loading. I have tried repairing all of the Razer apps. I have removed and reinstalled Synapse and Chroma and it still isn’t working correctly.

Another note is after the PC boots up, when I use the Razer notification icon to pop up the display for the Razer menu where you can change profiles for each device (I’m not talking about the synapse GUI it’s the quick menu from a single click) in this menu it also shows at the bottom the Chroma settings and the Visualizer one has been starting with ‘Always Off’. Now in the first couple days where this happened, in this same menu, I just switched it to ‘Always On’ and I immediately saw the lights change to the correct Visualizer profile (instead of the Quick Effect). This is also no longer working. Now when I switch this setting to ‘Always On’ … nothing happens. Another side note - previously I was clicking in this area to open the Chroma app. Now when I click in this area, 2 different things happen - Sometimes, I can see an app start to open but then immediately disappear - other times I get a Windows dialog that says you don't have an app to open this program, go to windows store to search blah blah.

To make things worse, I just got Razer Freyja and Synapse is saying ‘Launch the Chroma app to further customize...” which I cannot get to open. This issue was already happening before I connected the Freyja.

Also sorry for lengthy reply but I also have several peripherals and lights setup for the gamer room, and getting quite frustrated with the amount of time and money put into this for it to just stop working without any explanation.

Thanks and saw that piece from the notification portion of the bar. Clicked the “always on” option, restarted computer and “always off” has been auto selected after logging into Windows 11.

I have gotten my setup to work a bit better, allowing me to turn on Visualizer and access the Chroma app to get to Visualizer settings as well as settings the Sensa module. The only thing still not working correctly for me is the auto-switch to Visualizer being active after the PC boots up.

I started by uninstalling everything Razer. Hated to do it, fearing lots of re-setup and re-logging, but in the end, it was not that painful if your account is cloud synced. I used the Windows->Apps->Installed Apps then searched for Razer. I started with Synapse 4 and chose the Modify choice, which opens the Razer updater/installer app. From the Razer app I removed all razer software, which included synapse, cortex, central, Axon, THX, etc. there were several. I then went back into Windows->Apps->Installed Apps to check for Razer again and I did find I think cortex still in there, so again removed everything Razer, but this time using the Windows dialog and chose the Uninstall Option.

Restarted, and then downloaded and installed Synapse 4 along with just the few components I need now, so I think it was just Synapse 4 and Chroma. Restarted and then went to setup like ‘auto start with windows’ settings inside the Razer app and restarted again and noticed it wasn’t auto starting with boot. So, I went to Windows Startup App and found i think 2 razer choices with names like AppEngine or something not quite the same name as the app but turned them both on and restarted and it is auto starting the Razer software now but Visualizer still won't turn on automatically. However, I am now able to click the Chroma button to open the app and from there I can turn on Visualizer and get to Sensa settings. I have had to do this every time the PC boots so far, still looking to solve the last bit.
