Razer Synapse 4 Crashes After Launch — Any Updates on the Fix?

Hi everyone,

I recently contacted Razer Support regarding an issue with Razer Synapse 4 crashing a few seconds after launch (case handled by Rex from support). I was informed that the team is aware of the problem and currently working on a fix that will be released in an upcoming update.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else here is experiencing the same issue, and if there are any updates or temporary workarounds that have helped.

Thanks in advance for any info or suggestions!

Yeah, the constant crashing is exactly what I’m facing. It’s surprising that the issue persists across different Windows versions as you mentioned.

I did this as well. I wish to see them take action and try to solve this issue as soon as possible.

I had a very similar experience. I also tried clean installs, deleting leftover files, checking permissions, and disabling antivirus, but nothing helped. So you’re definitely not alone. I went through almost the same steps. Razer Support even asked for full access on my PC to check the issue on their side, and the problem still wasn’t resolved. So it seems the issue is deeper than missing files or permissions.

Lamentablemente, no conozco la solución a tu problema, pero lo mejor es contactar con el soporte técnico y preguntarles exactamente cuál es la causa. Si no lo solucionan (lo cual es poco probable), pregunta a la comunidad.

Glad to hear yours isn’t crashing often — it seems like the issue affects users randomly depending on hardware/software setups.

I tried again just before Christmas to install on my laptop, both my computers have the issue of crashing once the Synapse 4 has been installed. Both are different mainboards, laptop is an MSI and tower is ASUS RoG Strix. Both computers have their own dedicated RGB lighting, so I cannot remove the hardware, nor do I wish to remove the software on them either because Razer Synapse cannot control the built in lighting. Sadly, Synapse 3 works perfectly, it has no issues with either of them and both computers went from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro, both worked perfectly fine even with the stock RGB lighting they have.

My laptop at Christmas behaved exactly as it did earlier this past fall after installing S4, it looked fine, started to update the 80 steps to get up to snuff then the program opens, for all of 5 seconds and I do not even get to move the mouse to the little popup windows to close them for the tutorials and its all gone. This is very frustrating and my solution was to revert from a clone of the OS drive to its previous state which is only a month or so old. Thus, I have no install log data to try and upload nor is this kind of response a reassuring gesture on the part of the company that a solution is forthcoming.

As I have noted in a prior post, I have been a loyal supporter and user of Razer ever since 2004 when the Deathadder first came on the market. I love these peripherals and have spent thousands over the years keeping my machines in top gaming performance using the best of the best. Now… my faith is shattered.

My new solution. I have already purchased replacement devices from a competing manufacturer that I know works well on my tower so I have only to install and set them up. I know we can still use Synapse 3, but if it no longer has updates, or support or cloud storage of profiles, then it is not going to be a reliable product to keep on the hard drive.

Why do this? Sometimes reinventing the wheel is not a good idea, it tends to fail horribly and this is the fallout that everyone has to go through who does not want to fully replace their machines for ones that are more compatible and work with a newer generation of software and more ‘current’ hardware. I’ll keep my mouse on my laptop,, but I can no longer rely on it for gaming as it just won’t have a functioning driver application to run from.
