Razer Synapse not switching profiles for some (major) apps

The latest Synapse update (I had one yesterday I think) disabled the automatic profile switch for some applications. The profiles do not switch automatically for Google Chrome or VSCode, but they do work for others like Visual Studio or some games.
I tried everything that was suggested in some support threads regarding the faulty profiles switch (there are lots of them apparently, meaning Synapse is quite buggy).

Razer, please debug the latest release or give me a link to an older version of Synapse 4.

I just had a Synapse update, and my profiles are not switching automatically for some software. They are not switching for Google Chrome or VSCode, but they do work for others like Visual Studio or some games.
I tried everything. Resetting everything, reinstalling Synapse… nothing works.

I juste tried it on my second computer, I get the same result : Synapse is not switching profiles any more for some apps (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, ...) but it works for other apps.

I too am having this issue. I thought my Razer Synapse just broke for some reason. So I uninstalled and and reinstalled and the issue is still there. It probably is a bug in the new update (which I did not even know was the cause).

FYI folks, same issue and tried these, not working though

  • Unlinking/relinking apps
  • Recreating profiles from scratch
  • Restarting Synapse
  • Clean reinstall of Synapse 4
  • FRESH WINDOWS INSTALLATION FROM SCRATCH

Synapse 4 failed to recognize: VSCode, mstsc.exe (windows rdp client), firefox. Pathetic.

This is really affecting my productivity here. Can we all agree a fix is urgent?

Thank you for posting this. I have the same issue. This makes my keypad almost obsolete, so I hope we get a fix soon.

This is stressing me out, this app is so inconsistent! sometimes works, sometimes stops working, seems the only reliable things are games, but Browsers and Office apps are not consistent.

In my case, it does not switch to browsers and windows explorer.

games have problems too. I have 2 profiles for a tartarus 2 keypad. Synapse will switch to the associated game profiles when the games are running but often re-writes the profile so it doesn’t work as expected.

I eventually got an response from razer support. Their answer is “it’s not a bug, it’s a feature”. They are excluding non-games applications on purpose, for some bullshit reason about focusing on game applications to make sur it works properly for them.

Basically, it used to work for all applications, and now they are breaking the system on purpose because they are too incompetent to just keep things as they were. The most aggravating event in this affair, is that the january update looks like it was precisely about killing the feature.

Productivity applications, browsers, and other non-games are no longer supported by synapse.

They have escalated this case for me and now I am waiting.  It would be odd for them to escalate this and not be aware that it was by design...

Well, that was fun. I will not be supporting this company anymore.

I was told the same thing. They prioritize gaming applications. A very poor business model I think

They say it's in their FAQ but i couldn't see it explicitly say that. It should be on the box of every product they sell otherwise it's false advertising in my opinion.
