Razer Synapse won't bind Fn key?

As it says on the tin (using Windows 11).

  • I mainly use a 65% keyboard which doesn’t have F1-F12 keys, so I have to use Fn + 5 for F5, Fn + 9 for F9 and so on.
  • Got a DeathAdder V2 X Hyperspeed. Wanted to bind Mouse Button 4 to the Fn key to make the F1-F12 inputs more seamless.
  • Problem is, Razer Synapse refuses to acknowledge the Fn key: it’s not in the “Keyboard Function” binding tab and doesn’t even register when you try to record the input.
  • Problem is not the keyboard mind you - tried it with both my Akko and HyperX and the Fn keys are working perfectly. To be clear: Fn keys work under any use case, Synapse just doesn’t recognize them.

Any thoughts as to what could be going on? Pretty bizarre that the literal Function key is not available as a function in Synapse.

Cheers!

I assume you’re using Synapse 4?

If so then in your Synapse window navigate to which ever tab your mouse is then select the button you want to use as your hyper-shift button. When that window appears, you should see an option that says RAZER HYPERSHIFT (should be the 6th from the bottom of the list), select that then save and your FN button should be assigned to the said mouse button.

Hope this helps.

Oh. No I was not. hahah Thanks for that - I was on Synapse 3 this whole time.

Still, problem remains I guess: there is no bindable Fn key. Hypershift doesn’t change that, it’s just a mode switch afaik. Am I missing something here?
