I had Nommo V2 Pro yesterday and THX doesn't work, I can't make a custom Equalizer setting because it doesn't work. Only preset EQs (movie, gaming etc.) work. I even reinstalled W11 Pro. Synapse 4, latest BIOS, latest firmware. I think there's a widespread bug.

Hi.

I answered you in "Iusse with THX game profiles in Synapse 4"

Best regard Ivan

I have had similar/the same issue with my Razer Blade 18 2024 (running latest windows 11 24h2/all firmware, EC, and bios updates from the support download center installed). I think there is an issue with the way synapse interacts with the realtek audio driver with THX spatial audio components because not only does it seem to frequently break causing EQ curve setting to change or the audio slider in razer synapse to be unsynced with the windows one (volume in windows set to 25 for instance and razer one will say 0 or even undefined- plus adjusting it seems to make no difference in volume) but it also seemed to cause audio dropouts and clicks which could be from driver code errors causing spikes in DPC system latency (which you can measure with software such as LatencyMon). This can also cause mouse or general system stuttering which I heard some other people talking about. I am unsure of the exact issue but I noticed when I had razer synapse installed I was having a lot of pops and clicks in my audio even if I used an external audio interface over usb but after uninstalling razer synapse with revo uninstaller (to clean all leftover registry info or any leftover files from the program after uninstall) the pops and clicks seemed to go away for the most part. I also was having issues with razer synapse 4 and the chroma app both crashing constantly a few seconds after launching (will open for about 10 seconds or so, letting me click around a little before the entire razer app engine suddenly crashes). Strangely I was able to be resolve this issue by logging out and continuing as guest. Its possible there is some sort of issue with profiles syncing or updating correctly as well. Not sure exactly what the issue is but it definitely is buggy at the moment. Hopefully these issues get addressed either through a future update to razer synapse or update to razer blade 18 2024 firmware/bios or drivers.

I don’t know if Microsoft or Razer is responsible for these driver issues but i think both of them are. Microsoft screws up the drivers, Razer doesn’t act as quickly as possible for a solution. We’re paying money only to suffer i guess.

For real, I totally agree that both are likely responsible. Hopefully the devs are at least aware and are working on a solution - I kinda doubt Microsoft will do much about it for a little while but hopefully razer can remedy it from their end with some firmware or software updates. Definitely frustrating to spend so much money on something only for it to not work but, sadly, the more advanced/new the technology is the more finnicky and prone to issues it will be usually. That’s the price we pay for buying the latest and greatest in tech I guess lol but at least (hopefully) we can expect to continue receiving updates/improvements for a while as opposed to if something in a really old system breaks it may never get fixed if the systems are no longer supported by devs.

I’m trying everything for 3 days i even reinstalled Windows 11 24h2. I’m right now trying my best. This should be just plug and play already… I’ll update if i make it work. My current problem is THX drivers are not being installed through Synapse. That’s why i’m having problems with Custom Equalizer and THX.

I also fully reinstalled windows in attempts to resolve the issue but did not find success from that sadly. I managed to get the audio drivers to mostly sync with synapse by using revo uninstaller to uninstall razer synapse 4 and remove all leftover files and registry info leftover from the uninstallation and then reinstalling but I also had to log out of razer synapse 4 and instead continue as guest to stop it from crashing on startup. I imagine this doesn’t really solve your issue though because if you’re logged out then the profiles wont be set up/synced. Another thing I tried that seemed to help oddly was going in windows device manager and finding the realtek audio with THX device under sound, video, and game controllers right clicking and going to properties then driver tab and then update driver and then browse my computer for drivers and clicking the one that shows up there and then restarting (hypothetically this shouldn’t do anything as its just reinstalling the driver thats already there from the same file but somehow it did seem to help at least a little for me but not solve the issue fully). Neither of these solve the DPC system latency issue I had that was causing audio pops and clicks for me so I just close the app engine if I notice that happening and it usually resolves it or at least helps but then the profile switching and audio effects applied in synapse likely don’t apply anymore in that case so idk.

I have been trying to find solutions for a host of issues with synapse 4/my razer blade 18 for the last month or so but honestly it seems like no matter what I do even if it makes small improvements its still super buggy and may work for a bit and then randomly break again. I am hopeful that they are close to finding a solution or releasing an update that fixes it but until then, honestly, I think we may just have to wait for an update. You could try to see if you can get synapse 3 working instead- for me it was more stable but still seemed to occassionally have issues with the audio settings there so not sure. It definitely seems like buggy driver code or firmware issues preventing the hardware from being able to communicate with synapse software correctly.

This time I installed Windows 11 Pro through BIOS>USB Drive. Completely clean install. No matter what, Synapse 4 doesn’t install THX. I’ll try with Synapse 3 now. What’s more, Synapse 4 installs all necessary THX softwares and drivers for audio usb card from Blackshark V2 which i also have. Let me try Synapse 3, if i can’t fix it today I’ll return it to the Amazon.

Edit : I tried Synapse 3 but it’s not fixed. Looks like it’s a Microsoft issue. There are tons of issues with 24H2 January update, it’s known as a USB audio killer. Maybe that’s why we’re all having issues and blaming Razer. Still, if it’s not a Razer issue they could give us some news about what’s going on. I bought this Nommo V2 Pro three days ago and seriously and literally it’s a waste of time and money for me. Shame.

Guys i found a solution on my own, I copy pasted my feedback so read it carefully.

I have Nommo V2 Pro, Synapse 3 and Synapse 4 doesn't install THX drivers for it. So, i can't use THX and can't change settings in Custom Equalizer. All other functions are working as it should. Bass, EQ Presets, Lightning etc are all working.
My system is;

Windows 11 Pro 64-Bit 24H2 26100.3037 (latest build with updates)
MSI B450 Tomahawk (Non-max) with the latest BIOS named 7C02v1J5
AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3D
ASUS TUF 7800XT
Nommo V2 Pro firmware is also the latest, i mean everything in my PC is completely updated, all firmware, drivers, softwares. I even reinstalled Windows 11 Pro two times but problem persists for some reason.

***IMPORTANT***
Please read carefully so you/developers/engineers might have an idea because there's no one knows this solution in forums.

I've found a workaround for the problem but it's not a accessible fix for everyone and it's still mess.
I have also Blackshark V2 and it has Razer USB Sound Card. When I plug that, Synapse begins to install all necessary drivers for that USB Sound Card. It also installs THX drivers for it. After the all setup processes and restarts, a brilliant idea came to my mind. That THX driver was still looking on Razer USB Sound Card, and i thought if somehow i could make the system think My Nommo V2 Pro is Razer USB Sound Card.
What i tried was, in device manager, i manually changed my Nommo V2 Pro drivers, i installed Razer USB Sound Card drivers manually for my Nommo V2 Pro. After that, i restarted the system. When i checked, there were two Razer USB Sound Cards, one of them was actually Nommo V2 Pro.

***IMPORTANT***
Synapse detected both devices with proper names, Nommo V2 Pro and Razer Sound Card. When i tried to select Razer USB Card, it said "Set as Default" so that i can change settings. I clicked, error repeated. That means I broke Synapse with two Razer USB Sound Card drivers. I selected Nommo V2 Pro, it asked again to "Set as Default", when i did, it worked. I was able to choose between Stereo-THX, i was able to change custom Equalizer settings. I was in shock. Everything was working. Then, I unplugged my Razer USB Sound Card from the USB port (the real one which is for Blackshark V2) and in Synapse there was only Nommo V2 Pro left. After multiple restarts, changing settings etc. everything was working because thanks to my old Blackshark V2's USB Sound Card, i managed to install THX drivers which was also visible in device manager.

***IMPORTANT***
I have another PC with the latest Windows 11 Pro and motherboard of that PC is ASUS Prime B450 Plus with the BIOS version 4401, Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS Dual 6600XT. Default BIOS settings, onboard sound active and working.
I tried my Nommo V2 Pro on that computer. It installed THX drivers right away with Synapse 4 ! However, this time It stucked "Detecting" and i couldn't even change any settings even after multiple system restarts. Only positive thing was, in that system, somehow Synapse decided to install THX drivers but again for some reason, it bugged itself out so that it couldn't read device info and stucked in Nommo V2 Pro tab with "Detecting".

***IMPORTANT*** I don't know if it's another bug or a feature, but your custom Equalizer setting is saved in your device's own memory. My Custom Equalizer Settings (bass, trebble changings) were persistent even though I used the speakers on another PC. Even in my PC, after clean installation of Windows, that Custom Equalizer Setting was working, but of course since there was no THX drivers, I couldn't change my custom settings again. If I have to change, I need to plug in my Blackshark V2's USB Sound Card and repeat the processes again.

I don't know if it's a Microsoft issue or direct issue from you, but please fix it asap. I even give you a possible fix structure with detailed information. I tried my fix on Synapse 3, but i'm %100 sure it can be done with Synapse 4 too.

What's more interesting is it might related to motherboard-bios configurations and Windows-Synapse relation.

Please fix it. Your hardware is already expensive and people trust you for your high quality stuff but no matter how amazing your hardware is, if it doesn't work with bad software, it's worse than the cheapest but also working hardware.

THX Spatial Audio USB 1532-055A

Razer Synapse 4 tries to install this but fails. I watched Task Manager and multiple THX Apos and “THX Spatial Audio USB 1532-055A” appears during installation but they vanish immediately.

I disabled every security settings in Windows and BIOS because i thought something is blocking. Maybe still is. I’m in contact with Razer Dev Team and reported everything.
