Synapse 4 breaks lowercase "q" input (BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed) – confirmed software issue

Hi,

I’m reporting what appears to be a clear software issue with Razer Synapse 4, affecting my Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed.

Issue:

  • The lowercase "q" key does not work at all in Windows (typing, browser, Discord, etc.)

  • The uppercase "Q" works perfectly

  • The key works normally in-game

  • And most importantly:

    • ✅ Everything works perfectly when Synapse is closed

    • ❌ The issue appears immediately when Synapse is running

🧠 Why this is clearly a Synapse issue:

  • The key itself is functional (confirmed in-game and without Synapse)

  • The issue is fully reproducible depending on Synapse state

  • Restarting Synapse temporarily fixes it → then it breaks again

  • No hardware fault possible here

This strongly suggests that Synapse is:

  • overriding input incorrectly

  • or applying a corrupted/hidden mapping to the key

  • or mishandling AZERTY input

🔍 Troubleshooting already done:

  • Clean reboot

  • Synapse restart

  • Key set to default (no macro)

  • Profiles checked and switched

  • Tested different connection modes (USB / 2.4 GHz)

  • Verified AZERTY layout

⚠️ Important detail:

This issue affects only the lowercase input, which is highly unusual and points to:

  • a software-level input handling problem

  • not a hardware or physical key failure

Questions / expectations:

  • Is this a known bug with Synapse 4?

  • Are there known issues with AZERTY layouts?

  • Is there any way to disable Synapse input handling per key?

At this point, the only reliable workaround is closing Synapse entirely, which defeats the purpose of the software.

💻 Setup:

  • Windows 11

  • Synapse 4 (latest version)

  • AZERTY layout

  • BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed

Thanks for looking into this. This should definitely be investigated as a software bug.

I can’t use my keyboard because the Q key is broken. Can we fix this ASAP?

I swear I’m about to stop buying Razer and switch to another brand. You guys are gonna lose a ton of customers because of this kind of incompetence.
