Synapse 4 Devices Not Detected on Startup

I recorded a video of the issue and attached it, yet the response I received was a workaround for an Xbox controller… This is absolutely ridiculous.

They are telling me to use the following “workaround”:

  • Switch the DPad from 4 directions to 8 directions.

  • Assign the keyboard function for up, down, left, and right (8-way).

  • Disable the 4 corners (8-way).

  • Then assign the keyboard function for the 19 keys and the scroll.

I have no idea why they even asked me to send a recording of the issue in the first place. Even after watching a recording taken on Windows, they still gave me an Xbox-related workaround.
Honestly, Razer’s support is worse than a dumb AI.

I have emphasized, including the link to this post, that I am not the only one experiencing this issue and that many others are facing the same symptoms.
I have been saying this repeatedly from my very first inquiry, so I’m really frustrated and upset by such an absurd response.

It seems like they are trying to fix something.

Yeah but the version on the screenshot was on the 22nd July and the lasted one was the 5th august (562)

+1 Same issue. No devices show in Synapse.

Temporary fix as noted on page one worked for me ...at least for now.

Settings → Synapse → Auto-Launch then uncheck “Minimize to system tray on startup”

Yeah but the version on the screenshot was on the 22nd July and the lasted one was the 5th august (562)

4.0.562 is the installed version from 5th August. 
About screen (4.0.86.2508050339) This is the Synapse UI build version

The issue still persists.
It seems like only the UI version has been downgraded.
I also received a reply in a private Reddit message saying that the current case has been fully documented

Thanks for your reply & confirmation, we have to wait in 2 week because the version 560 was 22nd afterward 562 the 5th august and maybe we will have 19th the next version will be 564 haha

having the same issue. Also, a new problem with the control pod. I am unable to customise the dial to do anything.

Synapse 4 has many issue including Chroma App things dont stay where you set them and keep moving around.

If I check something other than the Synapse UI version, the system tray shows 1.1.97, and when checking the installed apps, it shows 4.0.562.

I believe I uploaded the UI version in my original post.

I will install Synapse 4 again around December due to those bug you know guys its like the holes into a cheese which mean they fix a part there’s another bug appear lol 

I don't know who is the dev behind synapse 4 but i feel there are some internships working during the summers before the real dev come back of their vacation lol

I found a fix that works for now BUT it requires modifying the registry… proceed at your own risk 

  1. Open regedit as administrator and navigate to the following location: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  2. there should be an entry for “RazerAppEngine” with a string like "C:\Program Files\Razer\RazerAppEngine\RazerAppEngine.exe" --url-params=apps=synapse --launch-force-hidden=synapse --autoStart=1 ]
  3. Create a NEW string in this location call it RazerFix
  4. Enter the string "C:\Program Files\Razer\RazerAppEngine\RazerAppEngine.exe" --url-params=apps=synapse --launch-force-hidden=synapse ] (no brackets[])
  5. Open Synapse go to settings and turn OFF run at startup completely, the new string will do it for you 
  6. restart and see if it worked

If this doesn’t work for you you can just delete the key you created and no harm will be done.

I don’t really know why this works but I suspect the “--autoStart=1” stops synapse for loading properly.

+1 Same……. done all recommended solutions ( unchecked the minimize in task bar ) nothing works . Could it a solution to install earlier version?

@Ozzyyyy18 It works. It just has to be exactly like the one in the picture, including the " and without any extra spaces.

Copy and past this:

"C:\Program Files\Razer\RazerAppEngine\RazerAppEngine.exe" --ur-params=apps=synapse --launch-force-hidden=synapse

 

Then check it out because it tends to add spaces and you need to remove them. It works 100%, I've tested it on two computers.

Can Confirm , same issue here with Basilisk V3 latest firmware, Synapse 4.0.86.2508050339, synapse doesnt load settings until you open it up completely… Sigh…
