Whilst the re-mapping of the thumbstick by Razer has been a wonderul and welcomed update, there is still an issue that needs to be addressed
With the thumbstick mapped to movement (left controller stick), if you engage the thumbstick whilst also looking around with the mouse the game flips between console controls and pc controls.
The only real time this seems to have a negative impact is when trying to perform an action that relies on the mouse button being held down for a long period to carry out the action e.g. switching to med kit and then holding mouse fire button to heal OR switching to grenade and holding the mouse fire button to aim and then throw the grenade. Moving and looking around during this operation seems to reset the action, as I believe the controls are switching from PC to console. In the case of grenades, it throws the grenade before you’ve released the fire button.
I have found a work around which is to bind console right trigger to a Tartarus button. Pressing this controller right trigger and then mouse seems to get around this issue as both are actively held donw whilst the game is swithcing input methods.
This isn’t ideal as mis-timing the duble tap of the buttons can lead to it not taking effect.
In order to make the experience more user friendly can I suggest Synapse is updated to allow for the programming of simultaneous triggering of a console button AND a mouse button? That way controller right trigger and mouse fire button could be programmed with the tap of one button on the Tartarus. Releasing it when then release both console and mouse buttons.
Thanks,
Conan
