Razer Synapse Mac Preview - 6 Month Follow Up

After 6 months of the preview, I have uninstalled the application on macOS. Below is a list of continued issues (that have been reported numerous times on this forum) with no resolution.

  • Application does not run in the system tray.
    • While there is a system tray icon for Synapse, if you “Quit” (CMD+Q) Synapse, to get rid of the window, the system tray icon (and thus background process) quits. If the window is closed, then it should disappear from the “ALT-TAB” window listing and run like every other macOS app that has a system tray icon.
  • Razer Naga V2 Support
    • The only way my custom keybinds work is to close the synapse app compltelty. When open, my side buttons do not execute the action assigned in the profile. So in order to modify and test it I need to open syanpse, modify the profile, quit Synapse, test the key bind.
  • Keys sticking
    • Of you alt tab out of your current application while also pressing a customized key, (such as on my mouse I have NUM1 assigned to repeat), synapse will continue to spam that keypress even after you let go and it will only stop once you have turned the mouse off and back on or removed the dongle and plugged it back in.

At this point it is pretty disapplointing that the macOS preview of Synapse is in the current state while “alternative” software (such as Steermouse) work with zero issue.

The disappointing part of all this is that I made this post 3 days ago and have had 23 views with zero replies. This forum is filled with community posts about issues, and there is hardly any support from Razer. I am also surprised there is not a Discord server or something for more “real-time” communication regarding the testing of this software.

I had really high hopes for using my Razer devices on macOS and even bought the V2 version of the Razer Naga Pro, despite my “V1” version still working fine, just for this purpose.

I would be MORE than happy to provide any more detailed information, screen sharing, remote access, etc., to any Razer employee willing to get involved. I have a reasonably extensive background in software development.
