Formal Product Complaint and Escalation Request: Raiju V3 PC Touchpad Behavior Conflicts with PS5 Standards

Dear Razer Support Team,

I am writing to submit a formal product complaint regarding the Razer Raiju V3 controller and to request escalation to the product management and development teams.

This message concerns a fundamental design and positioning conflict, not a minor compatibility issue.

1. Core Design Principle Is Being Violated

The Raiju V3 is marketed, positioned, and priced as a premium PS5 controller.
Its button layout, ergonomics, and physical design strongly reinforce this identity, and many experienced players (myself included) chose this product specifically for that reason.

From a user and product-design perspective, the most basic and widely accepted principle should be:

All PS5 controller functionality must be preserved as a baseline, before any platform-specific adaptations or optimizations are applied.

In its current PC implementation, this principle is not being followed.

2. Touchpad Functionality Is Reduced, Not Preserved

When used on PC, the Raiju V3 touchpad behaves only as a mouse input device.
This is functionally and conceptually different from a PS5 DualSense / DualSense Edge touchpad.

In real-world gameplay scenarios — for example, Path of Exile 2 on PC — this causes clear and repeatable problems:

  • Touchpad-specific gameplay functions available on PS5 are unavailable

  • The touchpad cannot be mapped or configured as a functional module

  • It is impossible to replicate the same control logic used on PS5

For players who use both PS5 and PC, this creates a broken and inconsistent experience, despite using the same controller.

3. Xbox Controller Identification Is Unacceptable

More concerning is the fact that both Steam and Path of Exile 2 identify the Raiju V3 as an Xbox controller on PC.

This behavior directly contradicts the product’s PS5-centric branding.

From a customer perspective, it is difficult to accept a controller promoted as the “best PS5 controller” when, on PC, it:

  • Presents itself as an Xbox-style input device

  • Loses PS5-defining features such as the touchpad

  • Cannot be used in the same way as a native PS5 controller

4. Consumer Expectation and Potential Misrepresentation

I want to be explicit and precise here.

This issue is not about advanced features or optional enhancements.
It is about baseline expectations created by the product’s marketing and positioning.

A reasonable consumer expectation for a PS5-focused controller includes:

  • PS5-equivalent input logic

  • PS5 touchpad behavior

  • PS5-consistent identification on supported platforms

When a product marketed as a premium PS5 controller instead behaves as an Xbox controller on PC, with reduced functionality, this creates a serious gap between marketing representation and actual user experience.

At minimum, this undermines consumer trust.
At worst, it raises concerns about misleading positioning, even if unintentional.

5. This Is a Baseline Requirement, Not a Feature Request

To be absolutely clear, this complaint is not a feature request.

It is a request for minimum expected behavior:

  • On PC, the Raiju V3 should expose itself as a PS5-style controller

  • The touchpad should function as a PS5 touchpad module, not as a mouse substitute

  • Games and platforms should be able to map touchpad inputs the same way they do with native PS5 controllers

Anything less represents a disconnect between product design, marketing claims, and real-world usage.

6. Technical Appendix (For Product and Development Teams)

The following points are provided to help clarify that this is a design-level issue, not a configuration mistake:

  • The controller enumerates as an XInput/Xbox-style device on PC

  • Touchpad input is exposed only as mouse movement, not as a touch surface

  • No option exists to enable a PS-style input mode or HID profile

  • As a result, software such as Steam Input and games like Path of Exile 2 cannot recognize or map the touchpad as a PS5 input module

This behavior appears intentional at the firmware or driver level, which is why escalation to the development team is necessary.

7. Request for Escalation and Clarification

I respectfully but firmly request that this feedback be forwarded to the product management and development teams.

Specifically, I would appreciate clarification on:

  • Whether this PC behavior is an intentional design decision

  • Whether there are plans to introduce a true PS5-style input mode on PC

  • How this aligns with the product’s PS5-focused positioning

I chose the Raiju V3 because it was presented as the best PS5 controller option.
In its current PC implementation, that promise is not being fulfilled.

I look forward to a substantive response.

Sincerely,
MartinChan
