4k vs. FHD - 15" Razer blade | Razer Insider

Aside from the premium cost, is there value with the 4k display?

What I mean, is there any benefit to have a 4k display in a 15" form factor?

The FHD display consumes less power, and presumably is cooler. it runs at 144Hz and is matte.

The 4k display offers a higher resolution and more screen real estate, touch screen.

Scaling in windows, its not the best at times, so how pronounced is the issues? In all likelihood you'll have to play games at FHD resolution anyways. Since I don't have a 4k display, will non-games offer a lot of screen real estate if you have to bump up the scaling to 200%? I'm thinking excel is a good example.
Playing on FHD or 4K won’t effect cpu temperature, I believe it’ll be same, i only care about cpu since gpu mostly run cooler.

About resolution, it depends on the game, like Overwatch or cs Go i can play with 1070 on Blade fine hit max my screen refresh rate stable on 70fps @4K l, Overwatch on ultra. For open world titles with great graphics, I don’t want to play on 1080p, prefer quality than FPS, this is the advantage if you have 4K Panel, you can downscale it to 1440p when @4K is struggle.

Scaling 200% @4K on 15 inch maybe too big, on 4K 24 inch I use always recommended scaling 150% for paperwork like excel etc.
Its all matter whether you are more eye candy or serious performer gamer. Hardcore (1080p) vs Ametuer (4k)
