Blade 15 additional drive | Razer Insider

Just got a Blade 15 that supports the following:

  • M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 slot up to 2 TB

  • Open M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot up to 4 TB

One of these slots is taken by the stock drive included with the system, but I'd like to add another drive to the unused slot. Any recommendations for a drive with a profile that will fit in the system? I have a 4TB Samsung Firecuda 530 drive that won't fit in the case, so am looking for something with a smaller profile. Anyone have any particular drive make/model you know will work?

Please check out this article as it shows different M.2 drives and their sizes/lengths. I'll be moving this thread to our systems board so our Razer Blade user can post their input on your post. Thanks for your cooperation.
Thanks! Unfortunately, the article was not helpful because it discussed drive width and length, but not height. To clarify my original question, I have an M.2 drive that fits the width and length requirements, but it won't fit due to its height. I'm looking for advice on what drives have worked as second drives for Blade 15s, specifically this model: https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-15/RZ09-0421PED3-R3U1
If you have 2022 you will not fit double side nvme drive obły on blade 17 you have space to install it. Back to your question you will fit any one side ssd so you are limited to 2tb drive Max. Another thing is heat generated by drive some get really hot lukę like wd sn850 another design issues like samsung 980 pro that one half of drive is lower then second part and that give nad thermallad coverage. If you look just for performance and you dont care about anything else go for samsung p91a 2tb it is one side memorandum drive with the same performance as 980 pro and this is stock 2022 blade 15/17 drive.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, BlackFireDragon!
OK I've got the new drive in, and it works great! Question, though: what size screw do I need to secure it to the add-on slot? The laptop didn't come with one, and the two screws used to secure the default drive to its own slot aren't the right size, either.
You should have metal plate screw in alredy. From wiat see you need to unscrew the plate and remove it insted of this plate you put new drive. So everyting you need is inside.
Hi there, that addresses replacing the drive that's under the plate. I'm curious about a screw that fits to secure the drive mounted outside the plate. See pic -- the screw hole is smaller than the two screws used to affix the plate itself.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
Under you have sottered stock drive you cant tamę it off. For the mount second drive use the screw that hołd plate it should hołd also the drive.
Thank you for the reply. You may be thinking of a different model -- my stock drive isn't soldered in. It's replaceable. Also, the screws on the plates don't fit into the screw hole I pictured. Their diameter is too wide, so I'm curious to know what kind of screw to get that will fit the screw hole.
Strange. OK when you take back laptop cover for first time in nvme drive slot you have plate screwed with two screws ? If yes the same screw should fit back in screw hołe. If there was no plate how the slot look like becose mouting sould be pre-installed.

Edit:

You should have this plate marked in black circle. On blue and red you have marked two screws you unscrew. Red marked screw you need to remove from the plate and screw back to the hole you marked on your picture to hold the nvme drive.
