M2 NVME impact on Blade 15 heat

Hi all, I am looking to add an additional 1 TB of storage to my Blade 15 2020 Base and was planning to get the Samsung Evo 970 Plus. However, some buyers have warned that it can get quite hot and can have a notable increase on standard laptop operating temperature. I was wondering what other peoples' experience has been with upgrading the M2 NVME storage on a Blade 15. Has anyone installed the Samsung Evo 970 Plus? Are there other brands you have purchased which work well and have had no impact on overall laptop temperature? I do not really want my fans being noisy all the time. Thanks

I upgraded the m.2 in my blade advanced with a sabrent drive and haven't had any issues with it. Some folks say the 970 runs hot, you could try a thermal pad to dissipate the heat if you do notice any extra warmth.

Thanks. I didn't know about thermal pads so I will definitely consider that

Hey Insider I think this is duplicate thread. Your other thread is /m2-nvme-impact-on-blade-15-heat.68749/ You do not need to create duplicate threads relating to the same topic

Buy it - it'll not impact the overall heat of the laptop. You can also buy some heat dissipation sticker or plate and apply it on the disk, to be slightly cooler.
