Razer Blade 15 (2019) 4K or 4K OLED
Currently in the market for a new laptop. I still have my laptop I bought when I went to college back in 2011. So anything will be a great upgrade. I know I want the 4K model. Any gaming I do would be at the casual level so don't really care or need the faster refresh rate. But I'm trying to time it right... I heard of the 4K OLED that was shown at CES, but with no mention of release date. Outside of some sites saying it would be available in 2019, while some said Q2 2019.
So now the debate. Buy the 4K model when it gets restocked or wait it out for the release of the 4K OLED version?

To be honest you don’t really need 4K for a laptop as it hasn’t got a massive screen, but if you really want 4K I would say you should wait for the OLED model because you will have a top of the line model for longer. More showing off rights! ;)
Was the 4k ever in stock? I don't think so. I visited the Razer store in San Francisco 2 weeks ago and talked to the manager. They are yet to receive one -no demo units, and none have been sold. I just called them yesterday and they still don't have any date on when they are to be available. I was waiting on one, but finally gave up and purchased a 2k of same specs. They may just be shooting for the oled, but may be a few months out I guess. Good luck!
I can say you only this. If you want 4k get good external monitor that provide 4k give you even more then notebook small screen with small size that give you even smaller aspect ratio. If you want OLED screen remember that OLED technology still have issue with burning pixels on static screen this is only matter of time so if you dont care or have money to change the display when pixels will burn go for it if not get good IPS with great color reproduction :)
I'll sell my Razer Blade Pro 4k for a Razer Blade 15 4k OLED for those absolutely beautiful pixels! I can't wait for this new Razer Blade 15.
On a lighter note, by the time my savings hit the target amount the Razer OLED will be out. Yay! :)
Im sure the OLED is an even nicer screen, but the curent razer blade 15 4k screen is beautiful.
For occasional gaming, running at 1080p is fine (as it scales perfectly so looks like a native panel) with only the 60hz stopping it from being as good for gaming as the 1080 144hz screen.
For everything else, the 4k panel is perfect and definitely the best laptop screen Ive seen (And Im including Apple ones). So if you cant or dont want to wait you wont regret it
