RAZER Remote play connerction error due to Host PC GPU Encoding.

Hi,

I am currently trying Razer's Remote Play.
My PC is a Radeon 8700GE CPU, and the iGPU is configured with Radeon 780M. Since I use it as a headless without a monitor, I am using the PC with Windows RDP.

The problem is that there is no problem using the PC with RDP connection, but when I try to play a game with the Razer Remote play App on my iPhone, an error message pops up saying, "The host PC cannot encode. Please update the GPU or CPU drivers." and I cannot connect.

I have updated the CPU and GPU drivers to the latest versions. I welcome any suggestions from those with experience in this matter.

For those who are having similar issues as me, I will share the solution I found so far.

When using the PC in headless mode, the graphics card does not work properly because there is no proper display.

Therefore, to solve this, you need to connect a monitor to the PC, or use a dummy plug, otherwise  you can try to install Virtual display to activate the display.

Hello, thanks for the tip. The Virtual Display partially worked for me. I had been trying for a few weeks and you set me on the right track. However, I couldn't get the game to work correctly.

What definitively solved it was searching for the AV1 Video Codec in the Microsoft app store. I saw it was already installed and clicked "open." Coincidentally or not, it's working perfectly now. I hope this helps someone with the same problem.

I'm having the same issue. Can you please tell me exactly which app you ran from the Microsoft Store?

I also solved the problem.

The laptop I use has an Intel GPU and an NVIDIA GPU installed, and the integrated graphics card determines which GPU to use.

I changed the Intel GPU to Disabled in Device Manager, and set the NVIDIA GPU as the Default GPU in NVIDIA ControlPanel. After completing the change, I tried Remote Play and the connection was successful.
