Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop (RZ42-0365) NUC Replaced with NUC12EDBi9 Now Case Fans Don't Work | Razer Insider

Hello All!

Recently I replaced the NUC9i9QNB that came with the Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop (RZ42-0365) with a new NUC12EDBi9 and everything seemed to go well.  Cyberpunk 2077 never looked better, but I seem to have an issue with case fans.  No matter what I do the BIOS seems to not recognize them.  At one point, I tried setting the BIOS to have them fully on 100% of the time but that didn’t work.  The CPU fan responds to BIOS settings.  The connections on the NUC9 and NUC12 are a bit different but I can’t find what I need to get the fans to work.  Any suggestions?

I replaced my fans using a 4-pin PWM fan adapter for the NUC. Can’t just slide the tray out anymore (have to disconnect the fans at about the halfway mark) but it works just fine.

TBH my biggest beef with this chassis is how it deprives the compute unit of airflow. I’m likely to 3D-print an air duct to run the rear fan as an intake fan for the compute element (and keep the front as exhaust.)

Which specific PWM fan adapter did you use?

I'm thinking of replacing my fans since the system is getting a little too hot for my liking.
