It’s better for gaming than an Uhd 620 on most ultrabook and even Iris plus on latest MacBook Pro 13, yeah for 1080p all max still not capable though, do you want putting 1060 on it:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

That's why I said is was still a great unit 😉 it just doesn't cut it for my needs :P

I'm still running the 2017 14" Blade with the 1060/7700HQ. At this point I'm waiting for the R/GTX 2060 model to upgrade ... while hoping that CPU temp will go down with the 9th Gen Intel Mobile

Use ryzen processor please !

why?

It looks so powerful and destructive, and it's such small.
Nice to see the new design for the Stealth, but damn its a major bummer the individual key lighting was removed. Would have been instant buy for me if it kept those since it now checks all the other areas such as a more discrete logo etc..

It kinda sets the design back again imo, since the backlight bleed is awful and takes away the clean awesome design Razer is known for on their laptop lineup. Again, major bummer!
When will the 4K configuration be available for purchase?
Very nice. Ordered mine yesterday and will be here friday. Should be good enough for light indie gaming and maybe video editing. Should go will with my Razer Core for when I have it at home.
Looks awesome
The new blade stealth looks pretty nice, but I'm kinda bummed out by the interesting tradeoffs they made from last year's model to this year's. I personally have the Late 2017 blade stealth and enjoy using it for school every day. I find it strange that they upgraded the cpu and gpu, but lowered the base resolution down to 1080 without the touch. I never really considered the blade stealth as a "gaming" laptop like its older siblings. I always thought the of the blade as the laptop that you could easily bring on the go and it had the benefit of also being a gaming laptop if you wanted to. I'm gonna miss the customizable keyboard lighting, but will look forward to more improvements that Razer will make 😃

If you can play around with the setting, on Blade and in game you can keep 8750H cpu temperature in 80ish, pretty similar temperature with 7700H.

I also hype for new Turing mobile, rumor maxq 2080/70/60 was end this year announcement, but with big mess on Turing launch, I’m kind pessimistic getting it as early adopter, long preorder waiting time, artifacts, DOA gpu is known issue on this gen.

This is great, please update us with early benchmarks with your core setting since we don’t have eta yet in EU.

If you think of it as a Gunmetal Razer Blade Stealth you'll see it's not as much of a side grade as it seems. The gunmetal model only had white leds. So you atleast have the option to change the color on this one. I will miss being able to change WASD to a different color. Not a deal breaker. And at 13.3" 1080p is perfectly fine. Plus it should consume less battery power giving it better battery life compared to the 4k model. But, I agree the loss of touchscreen is a bummer. Plus I like the non glowing razer emblem. It makes the stealth look "Stealth". All in all I think they did enough with this update.
Can this laptop compared to the Razer Blade 15 in gaming performance if I get the Razer Core X with the GTX 1060 6GB video card?

Hm, never really thought about it as a Gunmetal Blade stealth upgrade, but now that you mention it, I can see it now. I guess to achieve the long battery life, they had to forgo the base 4k resolution in favor of a better gpu and cpu. It definitely is a great machine, it's just up to the user for what they look for in a thin and light laptop.
Actually the stealth V4 might make me think it's a better fit with the quad core processor and the individual RGB keys. Is the i7-8550U good for games like Doom Eternal and Street Fighter 5 if I use one of the Razer Cores with a GTX 1060 6GB? Could it compared to the Razer 15 in performance?

No, still you have to face weaker cpu and limited TB3 bandwidth in a core setting, but it’s good enough for running those games to run in 1080p way better than the intel UHD 620, maybe medium to high. To match direct MoBo PCIe gpu speed on 1060 maxq Blade 15 you need to pair with high end gpu, I would say 1070 or maybe better one, depends also game and setting though, 8550U is good enough to do that, similar performance with previous Blade 2017 7700H only maybe lame on some open world title because of less peak frequency stability.
How about the same specs as I listed but swapping with a GTX 1080? Not the Ti. Would that help run games at 60FPS at 1080p?

I think it’ll be no problem with that aimed FPS and resolution, had my previous Blade with 7700HQ which is similar performance with your 8850 paired with 1070ti on 1440p, could manage Far Cry 5 and FFXV 40 to 50fps, so 1080p should do 60fps~. On FFXV when I’m not wrong it was max 60fps on 1080p when I tested it. 1070ti/1080 is sweat spot for ultrabook cpu atm imo, more than that maybe you’ll get better performance, but worse performance for bucks.

Just have to think outside the box. lol

Looks my unit is stuck in customs do to Razer forgetting to send a Commericial Invoice. I just did a chat with Razer Support and they claim they are working on it. Being the holidays I can assume it's probably a mad house for them at the moment so hopefully it'll be cleared up shortly.

I have to disagree

Nvidia did have a lot of bad press for the launch and even more for "issues" with some cards.

However, while they did not have the greatest launch of all time, they did what they had to do to promote real time ray tracing. With AMD having nothing to offer the the moment, the timing was perfect to go ahead with a new technology while taking a minimal risk.
While the 20XX series is one for early adopters and doesn't come cheap, what they achieved is actually pretty incredible. Who would have thought that, in 2018, we would be able to get 60+ FPS in 1080p with real time ray tracing? And it's only the beginning, since optimization hasn't even started yet. Things will only get better with the next gen/refresh. But only time will tell if it gets adopted by the end user ...

As far as issues go, numbers speak by themselves and the issues are only affecting less than 2% of the 2080 ti model. Anything related to computers and electronics with a sub-2% failure rate is actually a success in this day and age. It had a lot of bad press, but if you look at the facts, it's not as bad as it looks.

So yeah, I'm still hyped for Turing Mobile 🙂

Yea may go this route when I think I can get everything for second price except the V4 Blade Stealth. I’ll just have to figure out how to get a good price for the stealth under the quad core configuration, which is the i7-8500U in the V4 config. Should be enough for 1080p with the core And maybe 1070 standard. That might be the best route to go. I like my options.

Rip, lol. Well, it's definitely a good portable laptop. Enjoy it bro.

This is miracle!! I’m listing now my 2016 stealth on eBay;)

I would also agree with you but I just having trouble with my rtx, dead and it’s not 2080ti, evga 2070 Black, fortunately Evga has great CS gave me BFV even I bought before the promotion period, exchange all expense I paid with the loose and send me new card. Btw yes Ray Tracing is getting better with time I saw latest optimization made almost 50% performance improvement.
About AMD, they’re working underground by selling the card really cheap, at least here, you can get rx570 for almost as low as €100 with 2 games! Fortunately those cards doesn’t take my interest but Vega 56 that’s now drop to 350 with 3 triple A games!, if go down to €300, maybe i can’t close my eyes on that;) There’s already rumors AMD Navi with decent price, hope with that nvidia can revise their price tag. Though if the demands high reseller or market price may higher like Turing launch.

Hi, have you the link? :)

I think offering hardware against house rule, honestly i still like my stealth, from form factor and build quality, pretty similar with Apple laptops, sturdy well made, still better value than MacBook Air 2018 in ports, cpu performance, egpu setting etc imo. Kind want to keep it since it’s the last Edge round form factor Blade that I have.

There’s new pictures of the cooling solution (2:44), I think on dGPU model, pretty promising for an ultrabook.

AMD are aggressive for the lower end of the mid-range cards, but I want them to be able to compete with the high ends Nvidia cards. With competition comes price drops and I would love to be able to grab a 2080ti for 1000$ CAD (about 750 USD) 😃 *wishful thinking*

If AMD RX 3000 series are as powerful and cheap as they are rumored to be then this could shake things up. But, I'm sceptical since Vega was supposed to be something awesome. Then they came out and were basically the same cards as the 1080 and 1070 that required more power and ran hotter. Plus they were impossible to get because mining. If these cards come out and they follow nvidias inflatted price logic then we're all in trouble. So fingers crossed.
