Yeah his thoughts on having a 144hz screen was odd. I mean that would be nice if you were the kind of person to use the aorus gaming box with this a travel egpu setup. But, don't know of any 13.3" 144hz screens. So they may not exist. The lighting I understand. On the one hand I'm thankful for the better battery life. But, it's kind of expected of Razer to have this feature at this point. And the soldered ram. . .I can't think of any ultrabook that has dim slots. I think it can be done.

Nah I won't rush. :eek_::confused_:

Aorus gaming Box is also odd:big_grin_: Who brings that out, maybe only for first week owning it after realizing it’ll be better bringing 2Kg gaming laptop and save more space and Energie;) Yeah they’ll be the first manufacturer who do this on this planet😝, I think smallest 144Hz is around 24inch screen.

It would be really niche, but someone that travels enough that they are rarely home, but just wants the portability of an ultrabook and the gaming box for gaming back their hotel room. In this day and age it's unlikely you'd have to run on just battery for a full work day. But the larger laptops like the Blade 15 have much bigger and heavier power bricks. And the older you get the more than seems to matter. :confused_:

Plus Zotac and Gigabyte are pretty obsessed with making high end gpu's in small form factors that could fit in the small Aorus Gaming Box. Making it upgradeable and more transportable that the behemoth Razer Core.

Again super niche, but there is definitely someone out there doing it.

Yes they’ll change their mind after seeing this video how capable 2019 ultrabooks playing games on go. 720p is fine for on go purposes like switch on bigger 13.3 screen;) About egpu, gaming box has big failure rate compared to other brand, normal gpu isn’t made to bringing around and it’ll need proper cooling which gaming box weak as well on this. I had Zotac Mini 1080ti, small gpu is also hotter and louder, changed to Evga cards, never going back:big_grin_:

Yeah powerbrick Blade 15 is bigger than previous Blade 14, but I can bring it easily on small Armor bag with other my accessories like secondary smartphone, switch and powerbank. And I can pull those two systems out from my backpack with a hand:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:(see attachment, took on some hotel when I travel with both), I don’t think you can do this with gaming box and smallest TB3 ultrabook out there:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:
Will there be larger storage options than 256GB available in the future for the FHD graphics model?

I'm not sure if any videos or tutorials are up, but the past blade stealth had the ability to upgrade the M.2 SSD. So if that is the case with the 2019 Blade, I would just buy the 256gb model and then upgrade when you need to.

I want to see how high of a clock speed the CPU can maintain while running the core
So I've hit a bit of a snag. My 1080ti does not fit in my Razer Core. And the Core does seem to run without the external enclosure. So I'm debating if I want to sell my 1080Ti. And side grade to a 2080. hmm

Which 1080ti and is it Core v2 when I’m not wrong? Beware of Rtx cards, better get from somewhere that has fast replacement service, I’ve over a month RMA with nvidia and 2 weeks with Evga from two different rtx cards 2080 (too loud on my core, since the fans unstoppable) and 2070, 2070 was DOA. Thanks to Blade 15 that i can keep gaming and working;)

It is the Evga 1080ti fw3. It was in my main desktop so it had no problems in there. But it's the led on the side that says Evga 1080 ti is what's causing the clearance issue and hitting off the inside of the Razer core. And yes it's the V2. It originally was never gonna go in the Core but since I'm replacing my main Desktop with the Razer blade stealth I only just found out.

I was thinking Nvidia or Evga. I've always bought EVGA in the past so I'm kind brand loyal to them. Part of me wants the 2080ti but aren't they even worse with issues?

Either way I need to get the 1080ti sold first to help cover this unexpected cost. Lol

No Artifacts and Dead card is overall RTX issue, but they’re addressing it, my first 2070 was also DOA. Just add, Nvidia has better build quality with metal cassis, pretty sick, but the fans isn’t unstoppable like Evga that make Core PSU fans even louder. Evga rtx comes with plastic or glass idk exactly what it’s, unlike before with metal. I think it’s due thermal, Evga temperature is always stay on 70 on gaming both xc 2080 and black 2070, 2080 Fe was hitting 80. Asus Turbo 2080Ti was my cores nightmare;)

Sounds like it might be best to buy from Nvidia then. As they would have to newest batches first. They also have a 3 year warranty. So if I get a bad one I can get a new one.

So luckily my friend bought his wife a gaming pc from bestbuy and it had a bad 2080 in it. So they returned it. I offered to make them a PC and I'll sell them my 1080Ti. They seem interested. So I should be able to sell that and make the jump the RTX.

I'd buy EVGA but they seem to be out of stock of the ones I would want at the moment. So I'm signed up for stock alerts. If nothing comes up by the time I sell my 1080Ti I'll go Nvidia.

Hm, would you recommend the Core V2 for a productivity/gaming setup? I'm trying to justify it for my blade stealth because I do some machine learning programming, but $500 for the V2 is a bit much, and I do want the extra USB inputs. And the most intense game I ever really play is CS or Rocket league.

At this point it's hard to justify the price compared to other units. There are alot of them now and most are $300. I'll provide a link so you can look at the most common ones and see it you want something other than the Razer Core. The cheapest ones like the Akitio Node and the Sonnet seem to have some compatibility issues. The Hp Omen eGpu seems to be the best one next to the Razer Core.

Just adding from what @TK-1987 mentioned, you should be carefully choosing egpu outside Razer Brand due compatibility, some are them couldn’t charge the stealth some of them has USB ports unstable connection etc, the important one if you’re looking some that could charge the stealth it should be one that has at least 65 Watt power delivery, bigger is better, you can check this for its specifications. Core V2 is the only enclosure that has separate usb controller to keep connection not disturbing TB3 bandwidth on gpu load, that is also one that make it more expensive than other enclosure, other one is cool Synapse RGB :big_grin_: And one of best looking enclosure out there for the rest price tag gap than other;) Though for works like programming and rendering it may be loud for some users that want quite environment, it’s from psu fans which is quite hard to exchange your self unlike core X that use normal Fan.

Yeah, I've been looking at a few third-party eGPUs and I remember LinusTechTips making a video on one that he personally uses on the go. Thanks for the link👌

The V2 is definitely a clean enclosure and it probably the most reliable one to use with the blade stealth. It is definitely treading on some dangerous waters when using a non-razer branded eGPU enclosure. I don't really mind loud fans, my current gaming laptop that I use for gaming is pretty loud, but I usually program with music and headphones.

Lol, Core X is definitely a good, cheaper eGPU alternative to the core V2, but no extra USB ports :frown_:

I had #2 "Audible coil whine or electronic noise when in a silent room or when placing an ear near the keyboard keys", however mine was worse than described here and warranted a return. I can confirm #1 and #4 were not an issue, but #3 I did not observe playing casual games. I did not play extremely taxing games.

Definitely weird that these issues are coming up in the new Blade Stealth. I remember hearing about the coil wind issue but that was back when the blade stealth had the i7-7500u. But, it also important to keep in mind that the unit that this article is talking about is a test unit. So, maybe some of the issues mentioned in the article have been resolved. Definitely going to be a case-by-case analysis for whoever bought the new blade stealth.

There’s always issue on early batch, and now even holidays season, I can understand, I’m also doing QC in my work but this week at work my head is already on holiday mood:big_grin_:
I’ve that 7500U stealth v2 bought refurbished, in this 1,5 years never heard single coil whine, it’s silent and doing overwatch or cs go on 720p with Intel hd620 it’s not loud unlike its big brother, even pairing with that crazy expensive 2080ti on core setting.
The only issue I have from the list making its way around the internet is the hard to hear coil whine and also the static coming from the speakers when not muted. Both of these are faint and really just stand out when putting your ears down near the keyboard. I do think it's funny that an SSD does sound similar to a spinning disk drive but for a different reason. Otherwise, my CPU acts appropriately when plugged in (671 in cinebench) and the USB C plug is nice and tight. The only other complaint I have is that the trackpad could use some driver updates. It is not perfect when it comes to palm detection although it is one of the best I have tried on PC. Also, if laying the thumb down on the bottom and then trying to two finger scroll, it often picks it up as a three finger down motion. Overall it seems to work best when trackpad sensitivity is turned down to low with no negative effect on registering when I actually am using it properly.

Yes I have the electrical noise. Its something that has been on my old razer blade 14 also. It's one of the fans. The machine is quiet and has no fan spin during normal use. I am debating returning it unfortunately. It actually seems like it's getting louder.
