I've attempted to plug in a USB-C SD Card reader to my Blade 15 via the thunderbolt port, but it's not being detected...
Any reason why this could be? I've checked everything in the BIOS and all devices/drivers are installed correctly (no yellow warning signs). I'm confused!!!

First plug it may be longer till windows recognize new devices, try repluging it. I’m using this MacBook Pro usb c hub without problems, nothing like updating drivers needed.
I'm just wondering whether my usb hub is compatible with Thunderbolt 3. I read somewhere that USB C is the same connector as Thunderbolt 3 but not the same cabling/internals.
Does the Hun you use work well?

The Hub? Do you mean the ports? Yes of course, it recognize the usb driver and sd card I plugged. Sometimes when I unplug it it pops windows warning though that mentions that usb device isn’t supported, similar when you plug non Apple chargers to an iPhone sometimes, but it just works.
I’m not quite sure about usb c TB3 port compatibility but it should work since they’re same connection and shape only different bandwidth speed. I saw though in Amazon reviews that some usb c adapter doesn’t work well on TB3 port like on MacBook Pro, usually the cheaper one, so I read it first and bought one that compatible with MacBook TB3 port since it’s similar with Blade TB3 PCIe3x4 lanes, full speed TB3.

Thank you very much for your reply. I think I may have to invest in a more expensive adapter (something that is more universally compatible). Mine was a cheap thing from eBay...
Btw, as you are a Razer Blade owner could you tell me if you have a some flex to the under side of the chassis (centre and near fans)?

I don’t have any flex on it. Bottom lid Blade 15 is thinner than previous model maybe it’s less durable if hitting something, never tried with purpose though;) I use always sleeve (similar with MacBook Pro 15 leather sleeve) for on go, hand carry, or storage in my bag or backpack.
