BUG - Synapse BETA identifies my Cyberpunk Viper as Black Viper Ultimate

The new Synapse/Chroma Beta has started identifying my Cyberpunk 2077 Viper Ultimate as the regular black Viper Ultimate.  It had identified it correctly when I first installed it a few months ago, but then changed recently.

The charging dock shows up as the Cyberpunk version and takes the proper Chroma effects, but not the mouse.

I encountered the same problem on my Razer Viper Ultimate Mercury Edition 2 weeks after purchase. I tried all possible reinstallations and resets, but nothing helps. However, I found out why it began to appear black. You need to install Synapse 4 beta and go to the mouse tab and in the serial number line it will be written NOSERIALNUMBER. On mice that have no problems with displaying the body color, the real serial number is written there. This means that it may turn out that this problem occurs due to the serial number in the firmware being misaligned. Try to check the same and post below. Perhaps this is some kind of problematic revision, but no one writes their serial numbers, although it is enough to write the first 9 characters of the serial number to find out about the revision of the mouse. My revision PM2218H17.

Yeah,  when I click on the ? icon on the mouse page, it shows NOSERIALNUMBER.

You can see that the Chroma module used to identify it properly until January 9th, when it suddenly “disconnected” the 2077 entry & put in the regular Ultimate entry.

When I go into Device Manager, it also just shows as the standard Viper Ultimate & has a driver install date of January 9th as well.

Yes, I have a similar situation. I also tried updating the mouse firmware from 1.6.0.0 to 1.7.0.0. The update was successful but the serial number did not appear. It’s surprising that Razer didn’t come up with a full reset of the mouse to factory settings to somehow fix this. I tried holding down 3 buttons, LMB, RMB and the wheel, but this does not reset it, the backlight settings are saved and the mouse does not offer to install Synapse as when it was first connected. Can you tell me you have a Chinese-made mouse, 22 year 18 week? (PM2218)

PM2208 for my mouse.  And there’s not a firmware update specific to the model number on the bottom of mine, just for the regular viper ultimate, so I didn’t apply in case it caused an issue.

Is this the firmware you applied?

Yes, I installed this firmware. The version numbers of the mice are really different, but the firmware is for all Razer Viper Ultimate.

Yeah, it doesn’t seem to work on my Cyberpunk mouse.  I get a failure about region info & then it says to retry or cancel.  I’ve started a different support topic about that issue.
