Razer Blade 2016 14" fan issues
I've posted this before and haven't had any replies so I'll try again.
Up until recently, my blade has had a few issues with completely entering a sleep state when I close it. Some times, the indicator LED would be flashing green and my laptop would still technically be using power, but the fans would not turn on, leading to my laptop getting pretty hot. I believe these issues are what caused my laptop to have an issue now with the intake fans.
As of now, my right bottom intake fan is not turning on at all, and the left one is running at least 50% all the time, even on idle. My laptop no longer has a warranty on it so I can no longer go with that option. I took out the "faulty" fan and ran around 3.5v through it to see if it would spin and it did, which means that the fan is not the issue. I really don't want to trace the connections from the female socket housing on the motherboard to find out where the issue really is, so I was thinking of making a small pcb which would act as a fan controller for both fans. This is a last resort solution. I have tried resetting the bios, I have tried using notebook fan controller with a custom razer blade profile that is supposed to write to the correct fan controlling register. Is there anything I missed trying out before I make the pcb? I would really appreciate any advice that anyone can give me. Thank you all for your time!
