Razer Blackshark V2 X USB & Razer Synapse has stopped working

I’ve had my Razer Blackshark V2 X USB for about 3 yrs and it’s worked perfectly until recently.

My friends and colleagues complained that my mic sounded terrible and there was a lot of static in the background. After testing my mic in discord and on Windows 10 and not finding any issue I decided to open the Synapse app to see if I could find a solution in there (I've not used the synapse app in a long time).

Immediately the Razer Synapse app starts to download an update and asks me to restart my PC which I do.

On rebooting my PC I now have no sound to my Razer headphones at all. The mic appears to still work as I can see it register when I speak. The Razer Synapse app will not open and I cannot repair it or uninstall it. If I try either repair or uninstall it gets stuck at some point in the the process and just hangs. I’ve tried to open as administrator which didn’t work either.

I’ve gone through the support guides on how to fix the issue, perform a clean uninstall but this hasn’t worked. I’m completely stuck and I’ve just had to go and buy another headset until I can get this fixed.

I’ve also tried to contact Razer support but when it asks for the product serial number it doesn’t recognise the serial code I input. The serial code on the USB dongle and I’ve tried multiple times to input the code, swapping O for 0 and other things.

This is really frustrating, I’m hoping someone can help.

Omg this happened to me too and I could not find any information on this.

There was some update that just made everything stop working for me. I can hear some static on the mic and that’s about it. I can not hear any sounds at all.

I decided to uninstall razer synapse and remove the drivers for the headset and also unplugged the headset. I restarted my PC and plugged them back in (without razer synapse being installed) and they worked perfectly fine again. Now your sound might be a little messed up seeing as we can not tweak it without razer synapse, but at least the audio is there again and the mic works.

Idk what they did but I hope they fix this issue soon.

I just got this same issue today with my headset Razer Kraken V3 Pro and I don’t understand why this had to happen because of an update. I have no audio but my microphone is working and the application controlled features such as haptic feedback and the lighting are turning on and off as expected so the device is properly connected but there is just no audio and I was using it yesterday night with no issues. I can’t believe in less than 24 hours I go from a great headset to a no audio heavy microphone.

The only thing I found that works right now is turning off the enhancements in System > Sound > Your Headset > Properties > Audio Enhancements. Just be aware that although this works, your settings in Razer Synapse will have no effect on the quality of the sound.

A month later and the only solution is to disable all audio enhancements… I guess Razer doesn’t care about fixing their own products anymore after a certain amount of purchases/time passed? You can’t have a broken application and just ignore it for a month, is that really allowed?

Had the same exact problem (and the same exact reasons!) and it’s crazy that it still isn’t fixed after all this time, but thank you for the post cause I was at least able to fix it.
