Turn off keyboard lights by assigning a key

Did you try setting a macro/shortcut key on any of the keys via synapse

No because I don’t know what the command is to turn off the lights. Any ideas? Or maybe give me an example of what you mean.

So what i tried is on Hunstman TE and Blackwidow Elite is,

>Synapse > Studio > Drag the mouse pointer so that all the peripherals you have covered in the selection are and then click on three dots and Add (as pointed out in the screenshot)

After selecting the peripherals, go to color on the right select black color and fill for all (its no illumination) and save it as Chroma effect 2

Now that the 2nd "chroma effect 2" is saved as no illumination, Go to >Keyboard > click on the 3 lines on the top right

Now select any key of your choice for me i took f10 key and set the "switch lighting" which will have Chroma Effect 1 and Chroma Effect 2 etc which you set. Refer screenshot below


So now whenever you click on it, it keeps changing to the Chroma Effect (color schemes you have set as you needed)

I had to post it multiple threads as it was not allowing me to post in one due to a known error/bug on the forum.

Thanks for that tutorial, @jakw0lf . However, I can figure out some different ways to get the same:
- Just press and keep pressing fn+F11 for a couple of seconds (without setting anything up). It will decrease the brightness to 0. For raising the brightness again just press fn+F12.
- Go to Synapse, your keyboard, illumination tab, and mark "Turn illumination off when the screen is turned off" (or something like that, mine is in Spanish and I'm translating literally), and in Windows Energy settings set the screen to automatically turn off after, let's say, 10 minutes. This way the keyboard illumination will turn off automatically as the monitor after 10 minutes of not doing anything (no need to turn the monitor off either), but the computer will not go to sleep.
- Make an illumination profile of your choice and another profile with 0% brightness (ask here if you don't know how to do it) and just switch between both profiles with the predefined fn+Menu combination (Note that I also have a brand-new Blackwidow Elite and it fails to change the color profile with the fn+Menu combination, don't know if it is a failure in my unit or in the model, but it does change the brightness with that combination, so for your purpose it should work).

Also note that with the @jakw0lf 's method you will have to assign a differet key to illuminate back the keyboard, since F10 (in his example) will not cycle between illumination effects but only set the blank one.
