How to clean braided mouse cable

So.. this is a bit embarrassing... I just spilled a glass of juice on my desk. Luckily it didn't get to any electronics and nothing is broken at all. However my mouse cable soaked up some of the juice and now I'm afraid it'll dry sticky. I used a paper towel to get out as much as possible and used a damp cloth to try and clean the cable. Does anyone by any chance have other ideas? And yes I know it was reckless to have my glass there, I typically don't. Help would be appreciated :)

Hi @Keira_Winchester, Use damp cloth press on it and dry it. Repeat few times. Avoid from pulling a cloth/cleaning material from one end to another end as it might undone those braided thingy.
