GPU fried on me. Worth the replacement repair cost?

Hey everyone,

quick question to the community. My 2080 Razer Blade just gave up on me. The GPU is dead and needs to be replaced. Speaking to Razer the cost is north of 1k and I wonder if it's even feasible to do it. It's already outdated and I feel I rather spend more money on a new RIG that I can easier maintain.

Since the GPU is on the motherboard, any chance of fixing this myself? Maybe even upgrade to a 3070 chip.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you in advance.

GPU default on most laptops need motherboard replacement that’s why costs expensive, but if it’s around 1K it’s actually okay since I saw 1,5K on blade laptops and even 2K range on MacBook motherboard replacement. 2080 isn’t actually outdated btw, it’s released in early 2019. 2 years is quite short for gpu lifespan if you were in EU countries due law you may it repaid under guarantee protection unless you moding the gpu like using LM or using it for unusual workload like mining.
