Magnetic phone holder harmful to QI charger?

Since the coil is located lower than on most phones, is it safe to add a thin metal plate in the area above it and directly below the RBG logo so that it can attach to a magnet(Vicseed brand) on the vent? It seems like it should be okay since it's not located on top of the coil...but I wanted to hear other's thoughts first.

    I had an iottie magnetic car dashboard mount and applied the magnet on the outside of a clear Tudia gel case and didn't have problems later charging via wireless.
