Deathadder Elite Won't Light Up

Hi there! First, I apologize if this thread is a dupe! I'm having trouble setting up my new Razer Deathadder Elite mouse and Goliathus Chroma Mousemat. I can't figure out how to configure color schemes/profiles for the life of me. Before I installed and started messing around in Synapse (v3.3.1216.122121) both the mouse and mat were cycling through whatever color effects they had going on by default. Now the mat is still cycling through what I believe is "spectrum cycling" but the mouse has gone dark. I've tried configuring static colors and choosing the "apply to other Chroma-enabled devices" option to sync the mouse and mat together and nothing changes with either. I'm not really trying to do anything too fancy with game linkes or anything else. Neither "quick effects" or "advanced effects" seem to change anything. I have been unable to find a decent step-by-step guide on the Synapse/Chroma software so hoping y'all can come to the rescue. I've even tried figuring out how to restore them to defaults because at this point I'd take that over my very sad and dark mouse. Thanks in advance for the assist!
