Hi, I am considering moving from PC to mac but I first wanted to make sure that my hardware tools, like the Razer Tartarus v2, works with mac.
Just like you I use it as a big part of my design workflow to improve speed.
Did you ever get it working with your Macbook pro or was it just not working after update?

Cheers

Depends on what you mean by work - stuff like mice and headphones will work without synapse, as in will play sound and be able to click on stuff, but anything like macros and controlling the RGB can't be done without synapse, sorry.

Its a real shame, too. The Tartarus V2 is a nice piece of kit. But without synapse, its more of a stress toy for keyboard enthusiasts. my recommendation is either wait until razer decides to humor the mac community and port their software, whitch WILL be a while, or get the OG Tartarus secondhand. As synapse 2 is on mac, you can use it for productivity, as I assume you aren't using it for gaming.

Recién me pase a Mac,  y oh sorpresa no hay software para Tartarus, lo uso para tareas de diseño configurado para 4 programas, debería existir una alternativa para Mac, ahora tengo un portapapeles en mi escritorio

HI I work in the innovation center at the Portuguese public service television, and i’m testing proven workflows, both hardware and software. I use windows and the keypad for video editing as I can map keys and shortcuts this way vastly imporoving productivity. I’d like to test this proven method but on the MBP M3 Pro, however I was surprised that still no synapse for mac. it seem a “lost” opportunity, not only for my specific case but also as it seems that Apple is focusing also on gaming.

Try https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/. I just downloaded it yesterday and was able to remap all the button on my Tartarus and get it working for me again!

Ok so I’m not computer savvy so I apologize if I don’t use the correct terminology. I have been searching and researching for a week now and I think I finally discovered a way.

The only synapse that I have found that will work on Mac is synapse 2. That alone seems to have issues in itself. I decided to try out Parallel Desktop. One thing to remember is Mac is not a gaming PC so we can’t really complain about capabilities.

if you choose this route try these steps that has worked for me.

To connect a USB keyboard to Parallels Desktop, you can:

  1. Click the Parallels icon in the menu bar
  2. Select Devices
  3. Select USB & Bluetooth
  4. Choose the device to connect
    (Top left corner, devices tab)

Once you install and allow the Tartarus V2 to be used in Parallel Desktop, it will now show under Synapse. I am currently running Synapse 4 on my Mac (Sonoma 14.4.1 - Paralell Desktop Windows 11).

I haven’t tested the method on any other Razer device but I’m sure it’s the same process.

If your intentions are to always have freedom to change profiles constantly then this may not be ideal if you don’t want to pay for Parallel Desktop.

There are 8 key maps installed on the V2. Paralell Desktop gives a 15 day free trial. Plenty enough time to set several profiles for key maps and cancel the subscription. I hope this helps.

I installed Parellels Desktop and then Synapse 4 on it but it doesn’t recognize my Razer Naga Hex. Any ideas?

I have it set in Parallels Desktop that the mouse is connected to Windows 11 and not my mac.

This is absolutely perfect and free.  I was able to remap everything on my V2, and even better than I could on windows.   I mapped every button to a mouse button (10-28) specifically for the V2 so I can map those independently of the other keyboard in games.
