Have you tried plug usb dongle directly into motherboard (different port) or using it via USB extension?

Same problem here since 2 weeks! I have always used the dongle in my PC and my laptop - no problems. I then unpluged it for a week due to traveling and when I came back, I had the same problem with both devices. Both run on windows 10, the dongle works in none of their usb ports (other mouses using dongles work just fine and my razer mouse works fine with cable). I deinstalled all drivers and synapse 3 and re-installed them. However, as the  drivers require a stable dongle to mouse connection (which isn’t given), I can not install the mouse drivers and it drives me crazy! Especially, as I still have warranty (bought it online in August 2023). Optically, the dongle works just fine and I did not install any updates or so while I was gone. So I have no clue at all, what’s going on

Had the same problem for 4 months and tried absolutely anything and everything, support were completely useless in handling the issue asside from telling me right away that I should go out and buy a new dongle. Switched to the logitech pro X and never looked back. This mouse isn’t worth the hassle that it comes with when it comes to Razer support.

I started having this issue recently. I’ve done all the obvious basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Tried a different port (no change)
  • Closed all Razer apps and software (no change)
  • Checked for a firmware update (there wasn’t one)
  • Plugged the dongle into a different computer (the issue persisted on Linux)

The mouse still works fine when plugged in to the computer via cable, so maybe it’s an issue with the dongle? But I can’t imagine why it would suddenly stop working like this. Razer Support has been nigh impossible to contact, of course.

To you or anyone else having the same issue, after I realized I had no use for this mouse anymore and didn’t care if it worked or not, I tried a very weird reddit suggestion. Put the dongle in the oven for 30 seconds on low heat. It did actually work and the dongle once again connected through the dock. Used the mouse whenever I had to charge my other one (once every 2 weeks with the superlight btw, compared to MAX 2 days with this abomination of a razer product). The dock or the mouse charging connectors give out after a while as well btw so if you’re planning on using this mouse for longer get ready for that to happen as well. Dock is only for aesthetics, charging gets done through cable now. Don’t buy their shit products, you’ll go back and forth with support for months on end and get nowhere.

Baking the dongle sounds like the kind of tip meant to address a soldering problem. I can't remember all the technical terms, but basically, you're trying to heat up specific components inside the dongle enough that they soften up and, hopefully, re-bond and fix whatever connection was broken in the circuitry.

What kind of lifespan have you seen for the dock and mouse charging connectors?

I think that’s exactly what I remember reading, it was a soldering problem. And considering Razer build quality I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a general issue with their dongles. I feel like this is a very 50/50 approach at fixing it but I had nothing to lose and it ended up working in my favor.

In regards to the lifespan, dongle issue came around after ~1 year; dock stopped effectively responding after a couple of months. Problem with the dock was that the mouse indicated it was charging, and I’d wake up in the morning to a completely battery depleted mouse. Using Q tips to rub the plates where the pins connect on the mouse did the trick for it to charge on the first try for about a couple of days and then it’d just happen all over again.

Since I wrote my first reply here until now I’ve owned 5 different mice ( a lot of chinese superlight knockoffs) and I promise you the build quality is the same, preformance is better, and the price is half the amount. If you’re in the market for something similar check out VGN Dragonfly F1, or MCHOSE A7 V2. Both very very good superlight knockoffs at a very big discount compared to razers products.

Honestly, I wonder if you got a defective kit. I’ve had mine for almost 4 years and this is the only issue I’ve encountered. Though I suppose QA that poor is still an issue, and my dongle is broken after less than five years...
