Synapse 4 is still a buggy mess

Since I try to use Synapse 4, it creates a lot of issues. very often happends the keyboard (Razer Laptop and external Razer keyboard) the keys are locked and triggers the keyinput a long time after the key was released. This issue is very problematic…. Last time while editing a word document it remove the whole long text….

Is an integration into the “Razer Central” planned? it makes no sense to have Synapse separate… 

Looks like they didn’t even complete the renaming job.

That’s because they suddenly decided to remove the beta tag without removing the beta quality. My theory is that they did it because they didn’t want to add new devices to Synapse 3 and they didn’t want to have new devices in software with beta in its name.

Just bourght the Black Widow V4 Pro and noticed that once Synapse 4 takes over controll you cant use your command dial, makro keys, light customization, snap tap etc…

Is there a fix/workaround for?

btw for anyone reading this thinking about buying literally anything from razer. Don’t. Just Don’t.

Yeah, same problem here. Hardware was not cheap, software is pure evil. In latest update - double click is not working in my macros, synapse is not switching profiles according to linked games. I am thinking about returning all my hardware to Amazon because of the software issues ...

Honestley I give Razer like two more days to solve my issue, and even that is very generous, otherwise I’ll defintivley return my keyboard, and make sure to never buy there again or let anyone I know buy stuff from Razer again. It’s just not worth the hastle.
Razer might even be liable for false advertisment cause they’ve claimed certaint features that they did not deliver.

You’ll be lucky. Razer Support often impose a time limit of 48 hours on a customer’s response. After which they close your call. No such limit exists for them, there is no SLA for their response time.

They claimed to have identified the root cause of an issue I had experienced for several months but could not say when it would be fixed. I chased them for a further two months asking for details of the root cause. Eventually they said:

By the way, as part of the confidentiality and our processes, we cannot disclose specific root causes for the reported case concern.

Yep. I personally had problems with the THX Audio Game Profiles for my Kraken V3 Pro - several games didn’t have their Competitive and Immersive modes available. I send a feedback ticket to Razer, and they want me to give them the serial number, my name, address, etc etc, all things that have no bearing on the issue or their ability to fix it. Completely useless. I’ve rolled back to Synapse 3 in the meantime.

Synapse 4 didnt save vents or led position in chroma studio when changing profiles. bug or ja a local profile issue?

I can tell that from beta release it become A LOT WORSE.

Beta was snappy, ultra fast → stable version now is loading tabs really long, and it’s very visible (in beta - switching tabs, or loading Synapse was nearly instant).

Some bugs were fixed in beta, to be introduced in stable again. Some of them were in beta → fixed in stable → introduced again in later stable versions.

I tried opening a topic with what I’ve pasted below.  For some reason they didn’t publish my new topic so I guess I’ll just post it here.

I recently built a new PC and just found out Synapse 4 existed, so I decided to try that instead of Synapse 3, as it’s clearly out of beta and ready to roll.  I thought to myself, “maybe it’ll be more like Synapse 2 before Razer forced me to upgrade to Synapse 3 when my last Molten Naga finally died (RIP!) and I couldn’t afford another one because scalpers were selling old Nagas for 3 times as much for some strange reason.”  Alas, it seems that is not the case, as mere moments after installation, I’m already having problems.  As we all know that Razer makes amazing software, I thought I would stop by here to see where it was that I went wrong.

My installation process:

    Download installer.
    Run installer.
    Reboot.
    Run Synapse 4.
    Try to migrate from Synapse 3.
    Told I need to download Synapse 3, sync to the cloud, then rerun Synapse 4 to migrate.
    Download Synapse 3.
    Told Synapse 3 and Synapse 4 cannot be installed together.
    Uninstall Synapse 4.
    Install Synapse 3.
    Reboot.
    Log in to Synapse 3.
     Sync to cloud.
    Uninstall Synapse 3.
    Install Synapse 4.
    Reboot.
    Attempt to migrate from Synapse 3.
    Given Error that states: unable to migrate this device’s profiles as the file might be corrupted.
    Make new profiles one at a time.
    Try to program dozens of new keyboard functions but am forced to select start recording every single time.
    Realize that all of my games have to be added one by one because there’s no auto find function that I don’t even have to download Cortex to know that it has.
    Eight additional steps randomly throughout the above of skipping and closing and nexting past popups to actually finish installing Synapse so I can go stick a lit (and waterproof, just to be safe) M-80 up my butt for stomach relief.

I’m just a layman, so I’m obviously mistaken, but it seems to me that a lot of this could have been avoided if I was able to sync from the cloud during step 5 instead of being forced to go through 20+ steps.  Am I missing something? It’s almost like this hardware is a F2P P2W early access live-service game that we have to overpay for. Is there a monthly subscription plan? How about an ultimate edition for one week first dibs on new versions?

The list of bugs i found so far:
-Unbearable lagged sidetone (normal sidetone present, the lagged one is on top of the normal one and can´t be turned off) on Blackshark V2 (seen reports on other headphones too).
-Can´t change sound profiles for some games (PUBG in my case, seen reports on other games too).

-My Raptor 27 is not showing up at all.

I have sadly moved away from all my razer products due to synapse 4’s being so buggy. I’ve moved to steelseries hardware and GG as the software has been reliable but the hardware is inferior IMO. I miss my Naga V2 Pro and my Deathstalker TKL… :( 

I wish Razer would clean  up their software and while their at it remove all the bloat. 

Does anyone have a roadmap on when we can expect to have a reliable synapse to match the quality of their hardware?

I just noticed that the wave effect is stuttery even when game uses Chroma. Jesus Christ.

Update on my end: My Kraken V3 Ultimate has THX Immersive Mode profiles for the games that support it now, but still no Competitive and selection of the sound profile doesn’t save - and the equalizer does nothing either.

I only reinstalled 4 because 3 refused to log in yesterday, but now I’m chancing it and going back to 3 yet again.. login issues are less annoying than sound issues!

But wait - there’s more! Adding new apps into Linked Games is doesn’t work. At all. It’s completely broken.

It’s actually astonishing what a piece of garbage Synapse 4 is.

Sorry for my little poor English but I Installed Synapse 4, after removing Synapse 3, and sinds then i notest that i can’t change the lightning from my Raptor 27 165hz through synapse. Its says, “Lightning are not available for HDMI and DP ports” while using a Display connection and a USB C connection for controlling my monitor. When i use Chroma afterwards it's working. Byside that, i get a problems with the lightning from my Raptor, Blackwidow v4 Pro and my basilisk v3 that in most cases go out and won't turn on at the Windows login screen, after waiting for a few minutes. Then, when i want to use Synapse, sometimes it won't start. When open the software for the second time it does. Also, loading the tabs in Synapse is sluggish. After removing the software completely with all the drivers that go with it, using the clean-up tool and reintalling the software, the same behavior occurs. I tride this process 4 times. Sidenote: I even removed al the installation folders at differrent locations and cleaned up my registerkeys, makes no difference. For now i reversed back to Synapse 3 and i have “none”of the problems i have mentioned. Sorry to say, but in my opinion Synapse 4 is a total mess. 

Another few thing that came up in my mind about Synapse 4 is the updating processs that i don't like. Now we don't have control over it, beside the fact that there still no offline installer. I couldn'd find the Razer (Synapse 4) “install” folder at the Windows location, for using it on a system that have no internet. So now we losing “total” control. I also don't like the look and inconsistency, loading up my peripherals in tabs. Synapse 4 Is ridiculous.

You want another one? If you leave it in sys tray long enough, opening the window and fully loading all of its content takes up to 4x longer than in S3. Faster my ass.
