I’ve already sent this suggestion to Razer’s support, but I think it also deserves this forum discussion.
“I'm using Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro.
It would really help if by using a macro, we simultaneously could change the lighting.
I'm sure there could be so many use cases for this, and that's why it would be great to have it available to anyone.
My use case is this: I'm using an auto-clicker continuous playback macro quite often. What it does is it clicks the mouse button every 20ms. There are many clicker and idle games that benefit from this macro.
Most of the time, I'm using the macro for a few seconds - from 1 to 10 seconds at a time.
The problem I often encounter with periods greater than that, let's say I leave it on for a few minutes to a few hours and go afk in the meantime, when I get back to my pc, I forget that this macro is being played, and move my mouse from the game to another portion of the screen or to another screen entirely, and then the macro accidentally clicks many unintended stuff, like links on my browser, files and folders, etc.
Having the option to change the lighting when the macro is being played could be a great indicator for me that the playback is actually still on, so I can remember to turn it of before moving my mouse.”
It doesn’t have to be just when using a macro, and maybe adding a secondary function for macros, keyboard functions, mouse functions, etc. could be awesome. Something suggested in the following discussion. (although for a Tatarus Pro)
Another way that I’ve thought about could work, is if the Chroma Studio had a new option for playback - for example on “Wheel” - instead of having the start an end option only have “On Any Key Pressed” or “On Selected Keys Pressed”, create a new option - “On specific key pressed”.
This will let me have for example one layer of static green lighting all over the keyboard, and once i press this specific macro key (not any key on the keyboard), all the lighting on the keyboard will change to the second layer - the wheel lighting will start. And of course it’ll end and go back to the static green layer when I press that specific macro key again.
