Razer Kraken - mic hardly picking up sound

i recently bought the razer kraken headset but the mic is extremely quiet on both PC and xbox. Iv tried a lot of different settings to try and resolve it but no luck. After looking online it seems to be a common issue but no one seems to have an answer for it. does anyone have any ideas? thanks, jamie
