Windows shortcut keys

I just bought this mouse today. I'm a 3D piping designer and BIM coordinator and I use this mouse for work. I am trying to set up all of my buttons and I can't seem to set up the Windows shortcut keys on any buttons. I follow the proper set up and when I click 'save' I get an error that says "This mapping requires Synapse" I'm trying to set up COPY and PASTE buttons To the best of my knowledge I DO have synapse running. It's defiantely installed. I don't know but it's getting frustrating and I need to get back to work. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
