Razer Blade 15 - partition size after SSD migration

Hi all,

I successfully migrated my data from the build in SSD 256GB to a new SSD 512GB.

Now I have just the issue that I cant resize the C: partition with the free new space from the 512GB.

The partition table and order looks like on the attached file.

Any advise how to make use of the space on the C: partition?

Thanks and regards
Oliver

Can’t you right click on that nicht zugeordnete File and choose extend volume?
nope, it just offers shrink...

update: I can create a new drive but I cant assign it to the C drive and the C drive I just have the option to shrink.
You need to move the OS partition to the end before you expand it. Windows will not allow it from that utility. You can use a program like partition wizard to do this. That program used to be free to manage partitions, I know there are alternatives out there, you can find one.

Edit - looks like the free version still supports this. https://www.partitionwizard.com/comparison.html

Alternatively, you can use Windows to copy the system restore image and reload it onto the new drive, it will fully utilize the drive.

To do this: create a system image via Control Panel --> System Image Backup. Boot from the USB directly if you want to start fresh as the Razer system image recovery is loaded onto your new SSD. Boot from a Windows loadable USB or recovery USB to load the image if you want to clone. I went with the fresh image install myself. No issues, all Razer drivers , background and such were present upon bootup.
I used the partition wizard and it worked! thanks a lot 🙂
