Haha, most of my games in my libraries are free ones, and yet I still have a lot of back log due to work and family commitment.
It's a part of life, responsibilities and duties are unfortunately something we can't neglect, but you are right, this is considered a first world problem, as a lot of people are not even able to experience having gaming PCs/consoles.

Considering the age where we are at now, we have more responsibilities we have to take care of, and it will definitely pile up the backlog of our games in our libraries. I still manage to play a bit over the weekends, but it's definitely not enough to follow through the backlog. Like @neaty_34 and OP said, this is a first-world problem which I believe most of us here in the forum share.

To be honest. I am wayyyy to picky when It comes to my games. I want to make sure I am playing a game style that I like and that I will enjoy the storyline of. Shooter games just aren't my style. If I am going to play a game without a storyline or at least some story, it is going to be a MOBA. usually either paladins or DOTA 2. I agree with you about the first world problem thing though. So about the backlog... I don't really have one considering how picky I am with my games. If I do have a game however, I make sure to play it. Except for a special few. Like Recore on the XBOX for example. I thought that game was going to be epic... I was severly let down lol. But ye. That's me when it comes to games.

Same situation as mine. I used to play during weekends and some nights after work if I'm not tired. I have the same feeling of making up for the past. I agree with @neaty_34 , it comes with growing up. Nevertheless, I enjoy playing even if I have a huge backlog of games. I have something to look forward to every weekend.

My 1400 game steam library is a testament to the fact that 99% of them have not been ever installed. Although I have started clearing out some backlog, playing Portal 2 and some other Valve games for a start.

5.5k hours on CS GO and around 1.5k on PUBG. I guess we play PC games to have fun and even though I have tons of games I havent played, its just more fun to keep playing my favorite games till I get bored.

I can support @Dekades story, as mine is kind of similar.
I still remember when were in the middle school our father bought our first computer the old bulky ones with one of the old 5.1 speakers from creative. It was so dope at that time though with all the surround and all, wow. Me and brother we used to play NFS Hot pursuit, Most wanted, Mario emulators, Earthworm Jim, Fifa, WWE,Prince of Persia which were one of the few games that i remember. We had to wait for our father to get us some game CD's by promising we will study well and begging :D "ah those times". Time flew by with college and there came the CS LAN gaming. Fast forward, work life's first few years concentrating only on work. Fast forward again "click-click-click", right now with self earned money i have a decent gaming laptop setup with my special Razer gear(Razer gear mentioned in my signature, "sigh! proud owner") and a PS4 console setup. I keep buying games whenever i see something new, no answering or asking parents and waiting for their approval :D.
Now the only scene is that i start a game and then leave it in between due to time constraint with something or the other coming up. Then by the time i get back to gaming, i'll see another game title in either PC or PS platform and will buy that. The only problem is i can afford and have the games which i want, but too little of time to play them all. Gosh!!!

Right now it's just too many games and not enough time, it's kinda always been like this from my childhood up until now. And time becomes even shorter with each day that passes, so give a f*ck and enjoy gaming as much as you can fellows, up until your senses would be of no good to you. Long live the GAMING!

I don't have enough money for games. I do have games to play in my PC currently. But I feel like I don't have enough time for it right now, although I do have some time to play. Within the next month, I'll be too busy for games because I have to review for a board exam. Wish me luck!

Same here, I used to play single player games multiple times 10-15 years ago. Gaming has changed though since then. Now there are many "living" games that you don't finish in 10-20 hours and move on. And there's more multiplayer games that also never end. Plus single player games keep getting bigger like AC Origins and Odyssey. It's not a bad thing...really you're getting more playtime for your money, but the backlog can pile up quick. I guess it's a good problem that there's so many good games, but you don't want to get overwhelmed or neglect real life. I've played all the games in my library and only buy ones I'll play. I usually have about 5 games in my backlog or on wishlist.

I'm loving all the responses. I'm curious to know what people have in their backlog, especially if they're games that are must-play. It's like finding out a friend hasn't watched a movie that's super good or popular.
I have the Witcher 3 and the Bioshock series on my list. Ugh, I'm the worst!

DekadesWhat're you doing, man? The Witcher 3 is one of the highest rated games of all time, I'm surprised you haven't played it even as you work for a gaming company.

DekadesI totally understand you. When I was a kid I just had one GameBoyColor with a single game (Pokemon Silver Edition). Money was not really available for and it was very hard to convince my parents because they are against gaming . I lent some games from my friends. Now I have to study a lot and there is not much time or money to enjoy all these wonderful games. And I think it will be even much less as soon as I will go work. But sometimes I still escalate and spend a whole week for a old game that I always wanted to play during my childhood.😁
Growing up as a kid and even up to my early college days, a huge problem was that I never had enough games. When I got my NES for my birthday the only games I had were the ones that came with it: Duck Hunt and Gyromite. We didn't have much money, so the games were far and a few between and anytime I got my hands on a game, I played the living daylights out of it. Fast forward to today, sprinkle in some hard work and whip up a batch of first world problems and I have found myself with the opposite. Now that I'm making my own money, I find myself buying games that I never get around to playing. Maybe there's a part of me that feels like I'm making up for the lack that was prevalent when I was a kid. Regardless, I have this huge backlog of games and with work and life, I feel like there's never enough time. Do you have a backlog? If so, how big? Do you think you'll ever get to it? This is the thread of the week, share your stories!

When i was younger i used to go through 100% of the content of any game i could have.
Now that i have much less time to play, that's quite difficult.
That's even more true with long and good games that i can't really follow due to breaks of 4-5 days that happen sometimes between two game sessions.
My bad for english mistakes but i try my best.
