Released with the same price as the previous version, nice!
The new VIPER 8KHz mouse looks really impressive.
Congratulations Razer for achieving a true 8000 Hz polling ratesending up to 8 times more data in a second and reducing delay from 1 to 1 / 8th of a millisecond.
8k doesnt work, mouse polling max at 4k.
Having issues in Valorant. All othe rgames are fine but 8000hz in valo is lagging and freezing when moving the mouse quickly.
I'm not really sure that more dpi's are helpful for most of the people.
My mind ius blown with all the new tech razer is sending out!
Has anyone noticed that the Razer Viper looks like Ironman's helmet?
Wanna have some Razer gear soon...
Anyone having issues of mouse not being able to be detected after a cold startup? Need to unplug and plug it back for it to work. Extremely annoying I don't understand how Razer tests their firmwares. It's been thrash recently...
I have the same issue where the mouse is not detected at startup when set to 8K Hz. The mouse is plugged into the USB 3 port connected to the CPU and not the chipset. Motherboard is a Gigabyte x570 Xtreme (running the latest Agesa 18.104.22.168), 5950x. Power Supply is Seasonic Prime TX-1000 on a APC 1500VA Smart UPS. Also running the latest AMD Chipset drivers 22.214.171.1241 released on Feb 4th 2021
Also running the latest version of Windows 10 20H2
No dice. Tried everything but no go. Only Razer can solve this through a firmware update but it seems like it might take a long time seeing how broken and unfixed their other products are.
I noticed under Device Manager there were 2x listed as USB Input Devices that represented my Razer 8k Mouse (odd that their were 2). The really odd part was one of them had an old 2017 driver with a manufacturer of Razer and the other was 2020/09/28 with a manufacturer of Razer. I replaced the driver on the 2017 driver using the Update Driver -> Browse function to replace it with the 2020/09/28 driver. I no longer have the cold boot issue it appears. We shall see if this lasts...
Seriously doubt this would be the fix as it seems to be at a hardware level. The cold boot does not even power up the device and that is the problem.
The fastest way to replicate this is to shutdown your system. Turn off the main power and press the PC power button 2 or 3 times. Then turn back the power on and boot up. You can't even use the mouse in the bios as the device is unable to be powered up. That is the entire problem. Disconnecting and connecting it back solves this but it is highly annoying and shouldn't be the case for a mouse this expensive.
I do think this can be fixed only via a firmware update but question is how long? Razer has been dragging their legs for a fix as simple as this.
Disregard my last statement. Replacing the old driver did not fix the issue. Cold booting the PC as you've described makes this issue appear consistently.
Please Razer Fix this issue!!!! If I plug in my old Glorious Model O- into the same port as the Razer, it works perfectly everytime. 100% a firmware issue.
AWESOME MOUSE I WANNA ADD THIS TO MY SET UP SOON
Oh, you have an 8k monitor do ya? But do ya have the 8k mouse?
