AZERTY to QWERTY Huntsman Tenkeyless mod.

Hi, i made the mistake of buying a French AZERTY Tenkeyless instead of a QWERTY and thought i would need to send the keyboard back but after having a look at my old Razer Black Widow keyboard from 2014 that has better looking keys IMO and easier to read i realised they are compatible with the AZERTY Huntsman Tenkeyless and i cleaned them all with alcohol and swapped them over and set it up as a UK keyboard in Windows and it works fine however in the Razer Synapse software it was still showing the macro settings as if i was using a AZERTY keyboard.

I think you should add a way to change your default keyboard layout in the macro section because it could potentially become confusing after swapping keys.

I had a look around the Synapse instal folder and found one called “en” and one called “fr”.Inside the “en” folder is a file called “System.Windows.Interactivity.resources.dll”. I copied the one from the “en” folder and put it in the “fr” folder and replaced the original. I then noticed a folder called “fr-FR” and it has a file called “Synapse3.Macros.Common.TranslationHelper.resources.dll” inside it. I replaced this one with the one i found in the main “Razer Synapse 3 Host” directory and then signed out of Windows and signed back in to reload the synapse software. After i did this the macro settings are now showing up as if I’m using a real QWERTY keyboard and makes things a little easier to keep track of. I don’t actually use the macros but this was triggering my OCD.

I just thought I’d post this here for anyone else who might have made the same mistake as myself and don’t want to wait for a replacement QWERTY keyboard to arrive. Using the same method you can most likely swap any keyboard to be recognised as a English QWERTY in Razer Synapse by doing the same file mod.

Hi there.
Do you know if this method still works today and is there any possibility of you helping me with further instructions on finding the necessary files?

Hi thanks for bringing it to my attention that after software updates it seems like what i did before no longer works and im currently looking for another work around. I wish Razer would just let you change the keyboard layout in their software as a option instead of having to edit files etc to get it working properly.

Yes, I wish, too because I have this problem even though I bought one with the right layout. For some reason it's detected as French, including all the hotkeys etc.

Let me know if you find another workaround.

Hi i found out how to change it now. Go to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host\en” and copy the “System.Windows.Interactivity.resources.dll” to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host\fr” and replace the original. Then go to “C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host” and find “RzKB_0809.dat” then open it in notepad and copy all the text in that file to clipboard then find “RzKB_040C.dat” in the same folder and open it in notepad, delete everything inside it and paste the text from the clipboard to replace it. Then you need to “save as” and save it on the desktop as type “all files” then you copy and paste that file into the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host” to overwrite the original then close down your Synapse software from the taskbar or restart the PC. When the computer reboots or the program starts back up and you go to macros you will now see it in a English QWERTY configuration with all the keys labelled correctly (i think).  Give it a try and see if it works for you because it seems to have worked for me.

I just realised the keys on the left show up properly but the actual keyboard in the middle still makes it look like azerty but if you hover the mouse over the keys it comes back with the correct key so i need to find the image file that i need to swap too to make it match up.

Thanks anyways, that already helps a lot.
