Synapse Blocking Keyboard Repeat Delay/Rate

Hello,

I bought a Huntsman V2 keyboard (along with mouse and keyboard) about a year ago. I loved how everything felt and looked but something felt off - My typing really came out slow and if I backspaced or held down a key, there was a long delay and the characters came out slowly.

Just to make sure I wasn’t crazy, I plugged in my old Corsair keyboard and everything was nice and fast. I plugged the Razer back in and sure enough, it was slow and delayed.

I double checked the Windows Keyboard properties and it showed that the repeat delay was set to short while the repeat rate is set to fast. Despite this, the Razer keyboard felt like the settings were default or slower.

I decided to force close Synapse and sure enough, the repeat rate and delay were fixed and the Razer keyboard typed like the Corsair as per the Windows keyboard settings.

Unfortunately, that was a complete deal breaker. I type a lot and I just can’t bring myself to have a slow repeat rate and delay. I ended up selling my Razer products BUT...I’m willing to try them out again if it’s fixed.

Does anyone know if this was a bug with Synapse or something that it intentional blocks for some unknown reason? If it is blocked, I beg you to change it. No other keyboard manufacturer blocks these settings and it would keep me from owning Razer products.

I need this:

Just an update. I took a gamble and bought a new Razer keyboard and mouse and thankfully, this is fixed. I don’t know if it was Synapse at the time or the board but it properly responds to the delay/repeat rate settings in Windows.

Now if only Razer would add hardware profiles to save lighting like Corsair...

If you're interested in trying Razer products again, you could reach out to their customer support and explain the issue you experienced with Synapse. They may be able to provide you with more information on the cause of the issue or offer a solution. Alternatively, you could try using the keyboard without Synapse and see if that resolves the issue.

It's worth noting that many users have reported similar issues with Razer products and Synapse, so it's possible that this is a known issue that Razer is working to address. In any case, if you decide to give Razer products another try, it's a good idea to research and read reviews to ensure that you're getting a product that meets your needs and expectations.

did you buy another razer keyboard series? Feels like this issue happens specifically on a Huntsman keyboard

I have the Razer Huntsman mini v3 and I have the same issue. When Synapse is open, the repeat delay in windows keyboard properties is not taken iton account. When I exit Synapse, it works just fine.

This is an issue with all Razer keyboards that use analog switches. Includes Huntsman V3 PRO. 😡

I’ve reached out to Razer Support and they responded that this was not a bug, it worked as intended… This feels to me like it’s more of a “bug as a feature”. Especially since closing Synapse fixes the problem (but you are losing macro support etc). It’s also ridiculous to have a shortcut to Windows Keyboard settings in Synapse under the keyboard tab. A shortcut to a setting that is overwritten.

Have the same problem with new Huntsman V3 Pro TKL FW 1.1.0.0, Synapse 3.8.1231.120811 - when the Synapse Software is loaded and controlling the keyboard repeat delay is long, despite setting inside Windows 11 keyboard applet, short like OP’s screenshot. But if you closing Synapse - all working fine.

Can Razer fix this? Or provide setting for repeat delay inside Synapse Software?

I have the same issue.  I got the Huntsman Analog V3 Pro a few months ago and kept thinking something was wrong with my keyboard because my other keyboard wasn’t doing it (deathstalker v2 pro TKL.)  Then, when I closed Synapse, I had snappy response again.

Spamming keys in LOL (Evelynn E) wasn’t working and I kept thinking something was wrong.  So far, I can’t find anything that helps other than closing Synapse and using the onboard memory profile.

Yup still no solution for this, only not to use Synapse at all. Tech Support still can’t resolve this issue too (my ticket was 240208-002080).

P.S. HuntsmanV3ProTKL_02A7_FirmwareUpdater_v1.02.00_r3.exe - still the same, not fixes this issue.

Let’s hope they have a fix in the works..the last couple firmwares they released didn’t do it, lol
