Tartarus Pro Keymap - printing cheatsheet

Hello everybody,

I have been using Tartarus Pro for a while now, and it has become a pain to remember all the mappings I have used for more than a few programs.

Tartarus is not a usual keyboard, so there is no muscle or visual memory for the keys for a long time.
Not using your specific layout for a few months - now it’s gone, you need to check all keys again and remember them.

During the gameplay, there are always a lot of reminders, like “Use E for healing” or something. But the problem is that there is no reverse compatibility with Tartarus and Game, the game does not know that you remapped key 01 to key Y for example.

So everyone and I are making pictures with all mapping reminders, like this:

This is where my question arises:

  • Can Razer dev make a utility that will show mappings at the keyboard in some UI layout?
  • Or can Razer dev make a customizable layout view for printing or saving as PNG?

This utility will drastically reduce the user’s pain experience during resetting mapping for different occasions.

This utility just needs to show the current key name, aka 01,02,03 and the mapped\remapped value after it. And probable legend at the bottom of the page, for example.

It can be highly customizable if possible, with different colours, fonts, and options.

Please, consider this functionality of possible.

Or please, make an export option that can make a JSON file, with all “current”: “remapped” key values, so we can make this utility by ourselves.

Found a web utility that almost shows everything I want to add:

Will be nice to have something similar in Razer software.

This has been a frustration for myself, as I play a lot of games and it’s both near impossible to remember all key mappings, well as just painful using it beyond one keymap when you’re not playing the game 24/7 and it becomes part of your muscle memory.

So, like you I hoped to find a real solution that could maybe overlay on the screen. With no such luck, and not having the time to develop a real solution myself.. I did the next best thing and took Razor’s Diagram into Photoshop to create a light and dark  themed diagram, with highlights for labelling the keys, then dropped it into a Google slides doc to add a load of text boxes for the key labelling. While making it both super easy to access, edit and make a load of them for all my different games. Bonus being, it’s also sharable with the community.

Thanks for nothing, as always, Razer.

So this is my current solution:

Use  keyboard layout editor:

Load a json template (mine for Far Cry 6, but it is just a draft)

Remap everything as you wish!

I use a few main indicators to memorise it better:

  • color code
  • numeric code
  • remapped values

  1. So use colour patterns to indicate the main functions for most FPS games, such as move, movement modifiers (run, crouch), reload, interact, grab, inspect and others like ammo types or weapons from the wheel.
  2. Actual index of a key 01,02,03…
  3. Actual value of a key: the same as move forward, backwards (WASD) or remapped values, such as Esc key, C key and so on.

Using this approach helps me to save a lot of time and nerves. And it is also pretty flexible and fast in a matter of changing keys on the go.

Don’t forget to save PNG and JSON from the layout editor.

Razer should’ve done this YEARS ago.
