So, this is the second tartarus I’ve bought and the same thing happened, the tumb joystick pad died, specifically one of the keys, I must say razer product quality has gone down the drain over the years.
I’ve been a loyal Razer user for over 10 years, still go black widdow that is 10+ years old and works perfectly, even after spilling my drink over it a couple of times (couple of LEDs died bu keys work) Had chimera headset that also worked for 10+ years but upgraded it recently to nari ultimate, the nari fell appart after less then a year of useage, the plastic simply broke glued it back together and works fine now but hey, for a 200€headset to have plastic simply fall appart… horrible experience.
Then I was using the Nostromo keypad, worked perfectly for 10 years, but decided to upgrade to tartarus v2… after 2-3 years the thumb pad stopped working, one of the microswitches died, out of warranty ofcourse.
I bought another tartarus and this time I got the v2 PRO instead of the regular one, hoping it would be better quality, the same exact thing happened, one of the thumb pad microswitches stopped working and also the most used keys got worn out and are transparent.
For a 130€ gamepad I think this is outrageous! My black widow which is 10+ years old is in perfect condition, I’m only using the tartarus to play world of warcraft, everything else I play on my black widow, so I dont get it why are the keys on my black widow so resilient while the keys on the tartarus are so fragile? Why is the tartarus so expensive if it cant last even a year out of warranty?
After 10+ years of being a loyal razer customer, unfurtunatly I am looking for other alternatives for gamepads, because cba spending 130€ on a gamepad every 2-3 years because the product is bad.
My friend bought a logitech gamepad, which is sadly discontinued, about the same time I bought the nostromo, his logitech still works perfectly while 2 of my tartaruses failed miserably. And me being a loyal customer I kept using razer, thinking it was just a production flaw and the next one would be good. Hopefully I will find another gamepad which will not start malfuncitoning as soon as the warranty runs out, I’ve sadly given up on razer alltogether due to a serious drop in product quality over the years.
To add, I’ve also been using the naga mouse, the 2012 naga still works to this day, but the 2014 wired edition is also a cat in a sack, or however to phrase it, I’ve bought 2 and on both the scroll click died.
I’ve given the naga 1 more chance, bought the pro wireless edition and its working good for 2 years now, expecting something on it do die any second though.
Best regards, your betrayed ex loyal customer.
