Razer Orochi V2 - Unresponsive

It’s only been 6 months since I got this mouse but out of nowhere it suddenly stops responding in either of the two modes (2.4GHz and Bluetooth).

To say it isn’t working at all isn’t exactly accurate as the mouse will still allow some button inputs to be registered if I spam click them (like once every 3 seconds of spam clicking) although after a while it simply stops responding and my laptop considers the mouse as no longer connected. An additional note, the cursor seems to slowly be moving to the top left corner of the screen, seems to be something the mouse is causing as I noticed the issue being replicated when I had the mouse connected onto a different laptop.

Some quick googling allowed me to find some potential solutions involving firmware updates. I’ve tried the two firmware updates (one for the Bluetooth and the other for the dongle) and both encounter similar issues stopping them from completing being that the updates can’t proceed due to the mouse not getting detected.

As I never actually expected this kind of issue to ever arise, I have never really checked if I’m covered by warranty and eligible for it so that does worry me if worst comes to worst.

Also some more additional notes,

  • I’ve restarted my laptop multiple times
  • I’ve reinstalled Razer Synapse
  • I’ve attempted to use the mouse in a different laptop and found similar issues
  • I’ve tried switching between all possible USB ports on my laptop, no differences observed

Would greatly appreciate if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or even solutions for this particular issue as I would really prefer if I don’t need to get myself a new mouse.

I would have to say the problem you describe is that the mouse is on its way out and is dying… seems obvious but not always and unfortunately you’re probably just gonna have to get a new mouse.

I would go with the Cobra Pro if you’re going to replace the Orochi V2 as it has all the connection types as the Orochi V2 does along with a better sensor, optical mouse switches (Orochi V2 has mechanical switches which are a bit notorious for issues) so thats a big plus here as they are really good 😃

Quick update if anyone stumble upon this thread, apparently there’s an issue with the latest Synapse update which caused some issues. Uninstalled mine and my mouse has been working fine ever since. So, that’s that. Will probably look back into reinstalling Synapse if they ever fix the issue but till then, will be living without it.

I am having a similar issue. I uninstalled Synapse and it is still having this issue? Do you mean you uninstalled synapse to fix it? Can you elaborate...

Hello,

This is what you need to do. I have Windows 11 but should work for 10 as well. Otherwise not sure.

  1. Device Manager → Mice and Other Pointing Devices → HID-compliant mouse (If Multiple, right click, check properties for Orochi V2.)
  2. After you’ve found the right one: Right Click → Uninstall → Check “Attempt to Remove Drivers”
  3. After this is done is should be gone.
  4. Head to this PAGE.
  5. Turn the mouse OFF. Follow the prompts, and begin pairing with BLUETOOTH.
  6. Make sure that after you are in your Windows Blue Tooth settings you remove any previous Orochi connections.
  7. Next, when you “Add Device” and it doesn’t show, select “View All Devices” and then you will see the “DFUOrochi V2”.
  8. Now for the 2.4 update. Use this utility pairing tool.
  9. I completed this and works just fine, no uninstallation of synapse required.

Note: These steps are assuming that you are following the provided instructions when you run the application from the page I linked. These are just some things left out from the instructions.

Wish you all the best gamers, hope it works for you.

I’m having EXACTLY the same problem. - cursor slowly drifts to upper left, clicks are registered once in a couple of seconds.

Tried everything:

  • Driver/Synapse uninstall/reinstall
  • Update firmware to latest
  • Repair dongle
  • Check inside if there’s dirt on the sensor

Have you found any solution?

Hey freshbrick, no. I have tried uninstalling the device manager. I did all of what u did. No avail. It seems like it just decides to just act like this. I cannot even bluetooth pair my mouse. I have a 2nd orochi but that one works just fine...
