If you've never done this read the instructions then read them again then read them 10 more times. It's unlikely that you'll do something that can't be fixed. It's just better to no before hand. Anymore question feel free to ask.

Are the directions the same, and do I have to install the usb drivers as well?

Yes just very small windows program you'll install. And the USB drivers. Once you download them just remember to install them via have a disk.

Also, when you extract the usb drivers, should it just say usb_driver

Yes it should. They are and it took me a little while to get it. That's why said read it over. You've gotta get those drivers installed correctly or your dead in the water.

do you just select usb_driver, or do you select individual files inside. And is the adb and fastboot software considered the "terminal"?

Is it normal that we're still on February 2019 security patch? aren't android phone companies supposed to release at least 4 security patches per year?

They don't care about flagship for 800$. I've had an Twitter conversations via DM with Razer support. 1. They said that 3 (carrier) is at fault. Ad1. It's not, they aren't software makers, they are just validating updates from manufacturer. 2. Then they said, that they already pushed July security patches. Ad2. They aren't, because no one got them till now. 3. They admitted that they didn't know what they talking about and they really looking into security updates, but don't have any ETA, but rest assured, that they forwarded to mobile software team. Shitty support.
