The MR2 Android Pie update is now rolling out to Global RP2 devices!

This update provides various bug fixes and security updates up until September!

Thank you all for sticking with us while this update was being done and if you have any issues please let me know and i'll help as much as possible.

are there any new bluetooth codecs added?
To everyone experiencing issues that appeared after installing the update or errors when trying to install the update, please PM me the serial number of your RP2, the IMEI, and the bug reports so we can help you out.
Excellent news. I can only hope that Razer wouldn't stop with this update.

VERY MUCH THIS!!!
premium phones should have basic features. Apt-x is a basic these days, aas i have said before, erven my sons mid-range phone has apt-x, apt-HD enabled for goodness sake.
We are paying top dollar for bottom drawer audio functionality!
And where is android 10??!?!?!?


I am willing to forego Android 10 until 2020 ==If that means we can get an update with better Bluetooth Codecs.

My Camera woes were fixed with Google Camera port, but I would prefer Bluetooth Codecs supported from Official Razer side.

Between most apps allowing Dark Mode and Nova having Dark Mode customization: I don't need Android 10 to force enable dark mode like on my Pixel.

The higher quality Bluetooth Codecs would be a superb Christmas update*

I personally would have preferred Bluetooth Codecs over Camera optimization in these Razer Phone updates.

yep, i have posted this each and every thread about updates on reddit, still only crappy SBC codec
I can say that Apt-X HD works/sounds GREAT on my Razer BT headset... ON ANYTHING THING NOT THE RAZER PHONE 2...

Not to mention that AT&T seems to have pulled the RP2 update so mine is still on 8.1 from April
Come next month due to security update requirements im not going to be able to check work stuff on this POS

EDIT: not to mention I purchased the AT&T edition in the hope to get AT&T WiFi Calling only to find out NOPE, not included either...

Still no ARcore support which is really a shame since the phone should be fully capable of handling it.

I think that may be more on Google's side than Razer's, since it seems like they have a specific list of supported devices.

They have a thread for requesting device support, but... I have no idea if any devices have been added thanks to that. I, as well as a couple of other users, requested for Razer Phone 2 support... but nothing.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I checked my Razer Phone 2 for an update and: no sauce.

So, I have the update running for little more than a week now. So far absolutely stable and no crashes or any issues for me. BUT - tbh I still keep wondering what people were doing with their phones even before the update. I never had any serious problems/crashes with mine, apart from the known camera hickup, and trust me I am using it a lot.

The BT codec story is a real bummer. Tried all of my 4 Sony Audio devices, which support various stuff from acc - aptx - to ldac (obviously). But as far as developer options show it still keeps using SBC only... Although I'm not sure why it keeps showing the "HD Audio codec: aac" (just fake?) enabled option in the bluetooth connection settings of the respective device.

My device struggled to install this OTA, after downloading and trying to install, device suggests i contact support for Debug info.

Anyone else had issues?

I've gonna try uninstalling Googles camera app to see if that corrects issue before contact support.

I'm with three network and it's on contract from three, had the phone about a year now, everytime I check for updates it says it's up to date, I've tried resetting the phone and factory reset but nothing helps.


Three UK haven't given the green light on the update yet. This update is for global variants (non branded) so that's why you're not seeing it yet I'm afraid.

The update seemed to fix the camera freezing/crashing issues for me! Not having much else issues, sometimes have audio issues using android auto in my car but there are too many variables there to be certain where the issue is.
Will android 10 be coming eventually my phone is an unlocked 3 phone running a Giffgaff SIM just checked update says it's on 9 last update September 2019

carriers normally do rollout updates which increase in numbers everyday so give it a day or two

Looks like Razer phone 2 it's last Razer phone and support don't care about nothing...no update ... nothing,,
how about fixing the audio problem with the speaker phone microphone? I sound like I'm underwater to everyone!
i think they closed this Razer phone projects, because they removed from page Razer phone 2 info. So last updates was 2019 september .

Most of the time just general fixes will be noted instead of exact details.

I do believe this does fix that issue however as the camera has not crashed for me.

Gonna make an announcement about the Nov patch?
