While I imagine the end result will be a boiled-down semi-modular desk with RGB lighting (I imagine they'll ditch the screens to keep costs low), this is a cool concept that I'd especially like to see extended into the workspace - high demand for modular systems in that market!

Looks cool, but will it ever overcome the concept state? Will the "wide array of modules" be provided by 3rd-party manufacturers as well or Razer only? In the later case I highly doubt in any success

Compared to many desk projects this looks more futuristic but as always its a matter of taste, functionality and utility of course.

Or they could simply bundle up everything (like give the bare pcb desk and power units as basic product) and add the accessories as an add on perhaps on a slight discount price ? - A way to keep the customers coming back to them for upgrades and the convenience of compatibility.

Sounds like a great innovation and business model to me. Would love to see how it turns out.

Looks cool, hopefully it will be released soon

This will likely never get made. Still looks cool and I will eat my words if I'm wrong.

Razer projects are a helluva thing, too bad they remain at this stage only and never get real. The idea is still there.

This table is awesome! Hope Razer will really pull this out.

Size of the Gaming Desk Concept Screen?

So is this a laptop the size of a desk of a completely new pc form?

The main takeaway I would gain from a product like this is being able to condense your peripherals and clean up your desktop space. That's truly the selling point of this, plus any other add-ons for streamers and more work-based users, like the live chat screen, the CPU/GPU temp screens, and the touch screen add-on, increase the audience the desk would be relevant for and advertised to.

For a consumer like me to really want a desk like this, having certain modules like the temp screen and touch screen would be almost necessary, but especially anything that can help clear my desktop without needing to replace more expensive peripherals. This would include things like speaker modules, wireless charger modules, headphone or controller stand modules, and heck, even keyboard or mousepad modules. If you really wanted to get crazy, you could make it possible for a GPU to be fitted into it using Thunderbolt or something, letting it be cooled and contained outside of the rest of the PC and allowing for even more space on the desktop by making ITX form factor PCs to be more attainable without giving up performance.

The monitor I'm not a big fan of, since I think many consumers want to have a monitor that matches their PC specs, and having a dedicated, albeit removable, monitor for this desk would make it hard for lower-end builds to make good use of it. Which leads to my main concern for this project: if a desk is being advertised as versatile for gamers, then it should be versatile for all gamers. Make some cheaper modules, make some expensive and niche modules, but don't alienate any one budget size. I might be willing to put in thousands of dollars into a desktop like this, others might only put in hundreds, and some might go even higher than me. I just don't want to see a project like this be overshot and include design choices that drag up the price for things that not everyone wants to get out of it. Maybe it comes with a few of high-demand modules to start someone off, but the monitor especially seems like overkill to me.

I like the idea, but I think it's to early (and way to expensive) for the average consumer. I have spent a couple of thousand bucks on my rig. Even my table and chair are pretty much high-end...
But for the next couple of years, I don't see a big audience for a setup that is probably more expensive than a mid-range car.

But I'm pretty hyped if this will ever find it's way into the stores.

First, you have to have such space in order to fit in that giant table

wtf is this table....

Other companies don't do it for a reason...

Pricy, inconvenience, space issue, upgrade issue....

Any who knows if one day we don't even need to have large space for gaming
