Question

Huntsman v2 Number lock always "off"

Aromack

When ever I boot up my computer and before log in to Windows 11 my number lock is always off. Is there a way to change this to always on?  I have already edited the windows registry to have the number lock turn on, but that only works after log in. I want number lock to turn on as soon as the bios initializes the keyboard. Is this possible?

So here is what has been done and where the issue is now. I did as Microsoft suggested and edited the windows registry with the following instructions.

Press the Window key + r to open up the run box
- Type in regedit and hit on Enter
- Go to HKEY_USERS\Default\Control Panel\Keyboard
- Change the value of InitialKeyboardIndicators
Set it to 2 to set NumLock ON
- Restart your PC and check if the Num Lock will now be permanently on

Then I went into my motherboard bios and made sure that the number lock was set to on.

Now here is the weird thing.

At post the number lock turns on and stay on until I get to the windows login screen, then it turns off.  Now If I used the number keys above the letters to input windows password the number lock will then turn back on when windows logs in.

But if I want to use the tenkey pad to input my password I have to physically turn number lock on.

This seems like a keyboard issue at this point.

have the same issue. numlock is on while booting. then win 11 login screen it turns off. need to manually press numlock to activate numpad.

registry edit dosnt help since the problem is before winuser logs in.

no problem in win 10 though
