Faulty Razer Ultimate Viper Dongle

Razer Viper Ultimate was working fine earlier today, and suddenly stopped disconnecting and reconnecting every second, and only happens when connected wirelessly via USB dongle and works perfectly fine wired.

I’ve tested the ff and identified it to be the USB dongle.
• Tried different USB power settings
• Turned off WiFi/Router to isolate any wireless interferences
• Unplugged and powered off wireless devices using 2.4 USB dongles (Keyboard, Controller, Headset)
• Connected directly to PC’s USB port and other ports available
• Tried different PC and laptop (one has lower version of synapse, other has no synapse installed)
• It can’t be a synapse software, as it has the latest software updated over a month ago

Have tried above actions but no luck, and the obvious one is that even when the mouse is powered-off, there’s a sound/notification of USB being plugged and unplugged when the Viper Ult USB dongle is just connected, and it stops when I disconnect it.

Has anyone who experienced the same, tried getting the USB dongle replaced & paired?

It’s not software. I think that dongle is dying (or at least it’s overheating then it’s reconnecting).

Hello, i try all of what you described and more, but nothing helps. I know immediately that dongle is a problem since this was not the firs time. Any way if you fix this issue pleas be kind to write back .

had the same issues,   It must be not you but the software itself needs some troubleshooting.

Closing this thread, it was a dongle issue. Saw a dongle replacement online for Viper Ult, and seems like a lot of people have experienced this kind of issue and bought a replacement that works.

Is it really a dongle issue?
I have the same issue, so I asked a friend to try it on his PC. Turned out it's working perfectly fine on his pc, with no reconnecting whatsoever.

Another thing I tried was connecting the dongle to the dock. It’s working fine, but I don’t wanna have to bring the dock with me every time I go out with my laptop.

In most cases dongle issue. But it also depends on the USB ports in your PC - some are really tight to insert a USB into the port, some are more loosey - so this might be the issue in your case.

Tell me, where exactly did you buy a replacement? I had the same problem. My Razer viper ultimate mouse stopped connecting via dongle, although everything was fine before that. I downloaded the pairing utility, but it crashes the pairing. Updating the firmware also doesn't help, because at the upgrade stage, the dongle reaches 40% and then resets.
