Razer Strider cleaning

I like to keep my desk clean and move everything to clean the dust at least once a week. But I do it more often when the weather is nice and I open the window to enjoy some fresh air as this brings in some extra dust.

But I'm not sure how to clean my mouspad now that I've had it for a few years and I'm seeing some dirt accumulate on the bottom of my mouse. Pretty sure that I've got some dead skin cells in the surface texture.

Should I rinse the surface with water and let it dry? Should I use a soft hand soap or just water? Or is there a better way to get my mouse pad back to mint condition?

I ended up rinsing it in the shower as I didn't have a sink big enough. Then I carefully dried the surface with a microfiber cloth and allowed it to finish air drying on my desk.
