Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro Missing Driver and not shown in Synapse

I’ve had my Blackwidow v4 Pro for a while now, it works completely fine with my computer but has never registered in synapse. Synapse has detected the keyboard and installed an update upon connecting for the first time, but it has never registered.

The windows settings shows the device with the text “Driver not available”

Because of this, I am severely limited in my customisation options regarding this keyboard, due to it not being able to register in Synapse.

I have tried repairing synapse, uninstalling and reinstalling synapse but to no avail.

This seems to have not been brought up yet, so by bringing attention to this I hope it can help others with the same issue with unlocking their full potential of their $400 AUD keyboard.

Since posting this, I have got synapse to recognise my keyboard through a complicated method.

This involved getting the keyboard to work on another device I had, which registered it just fine, and then looking through the Drivers in System32 for the related keyboard drivers, and copying them over to an external drive, and installing them through device manager onto this device, upon which synapse finally registered the device.

I do not know for certain why this issue arose in the first place, but this shouldn’t be the case for anyone, as not everyone has the luxury of a spare device that can provide them with the drivers needed.

Hey, we just got this keyboard yesterday and ran into this EXACT problem. I cannot see it noted anywhere else on any help sites, reddit etc. My 2 questions to you are:
When you first plugged in the keyboard did it give you blue screen of death? Ours did >.< it completely locked up the system and despite the BSOD saying computer will restart - it never did we had to force restart it. 3000$ Laptop is brand new too, so its not like we’re working on a potato here. Im curious if that is what maybe kicked this whole thing off.
And: Did you run cmd prompt and sfc/scannow first to determine there were issues with system32 files? (we did and it came up all clean.)

Thanks!

Hello, I’ll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

  1. When I first plugged in my Blackwidow V4 Pro, I did not have a BSOD, I just believe that the drivers weren’t installed onto the laptop which is why I had my issue.
  2. I believe I did use command prompt to check for corrupted drivers, but the issue I had was that the drivers never got installed until I manually installed them using another laptop to copy them from.

Does your Synapse register your keyboard? If not the drivers might have failed to install and you might need to install them manually like I did.

Hopefully this helps your situation.

Thanks! Yep this seems to be our issue, since in device manager it shows “drivers unavailable” just like yours did. Plugging this keyboard in to another device had no issues, it worked fine. I wonder if it has something to do with Win 11…

Either way, Ive submitted a report to advanced tech support and hope they can send me drivers, since messing around in System32 scares the bejeezus outa me XD.

Hello.

I don’t think Razer will get back to you regarding this issue that quickly, so I have uploaded a zip file with the drivers I installed manually to get my own keyboard to register in synapse, so that way you and future people can have less trouble with this issue and enjoy their new keyboards.

Install these drivers via device manager, that way you won’t be messing around in System32 installing them, eventually after installing one you will notice the keyboard appear in Synapse.

Hopefully this solves your issue.
