Dell S2417DG (or maybe the 27" version but it looks like the 24") 1440p 165hz Gsync, it's pretty nice and it's cheap.
Hey guys! Wanted to give you guys a weird fix that I found!

I got tired of having to manually turn off my HDK before turning my PC off at night so I bought myself a smart plug from Best Buy (I bought the iHome iSP8W Wi-Fi Smart Plug) with the intentions of just using my phone to shut everything off remotely.

Now here's the funny part. After I plugged in my power bar to this smart plug, each time I turn my computer off at night, the HDK turns off with the computer! I dont even have to use the smart plug, just have my power bar plugged into it!

The smart plug ran me about 20$ so, if you're looking for a fix, I would recommend picking one up and trying it out.

Hope this helped,

I think the issue you were having was a power pass through. So yeah, a smart plug would completely kill all power, so it would not pass through to keep the lights on.
Good fix!

But I don't even need to turn the smart plug off. Just having my computer plugged into the smart plug fixed the issue. I'm using it as if it were just a regular wall outlet!
strange! but I am glad you got it figured out!

Anybody has found some other store that sells the extension kits (two extra light strips) for the HDK? The only store I can find them at is Razer itself and it won't send to my region (even though it will indeed send to every other location within my own country).

I remember Amazon Canada here had them a couple months ago first when I got mine but I can not seem to find a sign of them anywhere, so it seems like they are gone. Maybe they were not selling much and they slacked back on production of them, but you could look on ebay and other sites like that and see if anyone is selling a pair.

I managed to get some product thru a local store that stocked Razer when I was in Belgium and they wouldn't ship direct. Not sure why they do this, crazy. FNAC placed a special order, I think it ended up being shipped from another region

Yeah, I looked through Amazon's stores, Alibaba, Aliexpress, eBay, etc. but nothing at all, thank you both for the suggestions. What Fnac store did you use, by the way?

I guess my only option is to wait for the extension kit to be available on the Spanish Razer Store, then use some third-party service like Borderlynx to get it to my region... if only the Spanish store didn't ignore this Spanish archipelago, that'd be great.
The options seem to be either find someone over the border who can take the delivery and re-direct it or take a holiday and have it delivered to the hotel
I think i could sit and play with just the lights for hours!

Really hoping soon we can get ambilight for the HDK Kit when it's on the back of your monitor like Asus Halo and NZXT Hue 2:rolleyes:

At this Point im realy disappointed about the HDK.

Yes its nice the LED Quality is realy Nice, and yes its make PC more shiny. But in a "productive" way there is no gaming scenarios to it for more than an indirectly lightning to be the same like 10€LED Strip. Yes Warframe an Deep Rock Galactic can show what it possible but there is still room for improvement. In the most Software solution the is simple not support for HDK.

Its my first Touch with Razer Software policy and im still frightened how incomplete the Featureset in Synapse it.
Its cant be true to relize a Systemsaling Reason to build an Ambilght like System with a Modder Community. Razer does not realy believe to say "Okay Guys here is the Softwareground, make our Hardware complete with the only realy Reason to buy it."

I see in the near Feature a Ebay Sale

Yeah it just feels like they've abandoned it and forgotten that it exists. There has been no new features, the 2 strip extra pack has been out of stock for god knows how many months and the chroma workshop is practically dead. NZXT just announced the Hue 2 packs which look way better and I'm probably switching from HDK to it.

Also did they forget this?

We did not. Our press release clearly mentioned it would be rolled out in Q4, which is still the plan. Development and testing takes time. 🙂

Well this clears it up. Didn’t put enough time to try to find the press release. Thanks for replying dude! 🙂

So is there any possibility on using the HDK as an ambient kit? Been waiting for such a long time for this feature now, that I almost forgot I had the kit myself. Would love to have a clear answer on this, and if the answer is no, I also have no documentation to build it myself!
Hi guys, so it's mean any possibility to have a led lightstrip synced to chroma ?
I know Philips hue works but it is very expensive for a big one. And effects are not the same than true Chroma effect ?
It will be Amazing.
Thanks for your answers
And sorry for my Bad english (french Guy....)

Other then Hue and the Razer Chroma HDK light strips you can not yet, but the feature for third party apps is set to come out late this year (Or it was, not sure if it is still on track). Even then I don't know if there would be any cheaper companies coming too it, NZXT has light strips but as far as I know they are only really made for PC's and they are still expensive too, and that is all I can see on that list so far.
Help me, i cant power off
With the microUSB-USB cable connected to the PC and the DC cable connected to a wall outlet the led strips are not turned off along with the PC

Mine do that as well. They are all plugged into an APC power strip that I switch off after I turn off my PC.

You would have to connect both USBs, power and box, to the PC, for all the lights to shut off with the PC...or some sort of arrangement like that. Some of the newer keyboards have two USBs to give the LEDs more power (Huntsman Elite & wrist rest). Same idea here.
I have a 130" screen that I play on with tower speakers on either side where I'd like to place the strips (behind). Is it possible to get extenders longer than 30 cm? I would need extenders to be at least 5'. 30 cm extenders are incredibly tiny and would be unusable for me with my setup, although I'd love to be able to use this product.

I think it may be pushed back now, as we are near the end of this year / near the end of Q4. Don't quote me on it, but I thought I saw @RazerThe_Fiend post somewhere that it may be Q1 2019 now, but I can't seem to find that post.
