I can confirm as well, after changing all the switches the keyboard works perfectly. Fun fact, I first switched only the letters on my keyboard, thought it would be fine to not replace the less used keys...nevermind because I ended up replacing commas, tab, caps, alt etc as well, my alt button at some point completely stopped working. Don’t buy this keyboard if you don’t want to invest in new switches, really. Sad because otherwise the keyboard is quite good and I love it.

You shouldn’t have to invest in new switchs when you are buying a new keyboard. That is a complete non-sense.

This is so lame. Razer isn’t taking any responsability. Just don’t buy anything from them.

Switches guys, switches. I bought new Akko switches, not a single double type after that.

I ordered Akko V3 Silver Pro Switches. I'll let you know if it also fixes my problem.

Received the switches yesterday.
Problem resolved !

do they feel better than oranges?

Razer do something FFS!!!

Grettings,

I came back to a razer product after 15 years and it is same sh** as it was.

My friend bought this keyboard a few months ago and hyped me up to buy it too (I bought it like 14 days later). We both really like the design and the sound of it. He started to have trouble with double clicking on some of the keys so he tried all the things that he found on the internet to fix it. Ofc nothing helped and he bought new Ranked Gateron ks-9 G PRO and the double clicking disappeared.

Guess what 14 days later my keyboard started double clicking too. I tried everything I found on the internet and in the end I bought Gateron milky yellow pro switches and double clicking disappeared.

Fast forward to this day (keyboards are around 4 months old) my friend experienced double clicking again on Ranked Gateron ks-9 G PRO switches.

He than changed the switches with another spare ones ( Gateron ks-9 G PRO).

Keyboard is around 200€. Razer you can't fu*k with your customers like that!

I will update this post as soon as we get another problem.

UPDATE 13 MARCH 2024

my friend lost his mind and bought new keyboard. BlackWidow was double clicking even with Gateron ks-9 G PRO switches. My  Gateron milky yellows still work for now. I hope it stays that way for me.

WE NEED A SOLUTION FOR THIS NOW!!!

Razer you need to do something FFS!!!

I am having some confusion as to the process of replacing the switches.

  1. On some of the sites I see different colors, does it mean if I buy Orange colored switch then it will be Orange switch (vs red switch, etc).
  2. If I play mostly RPG (Path of Exile, Diablo, Wow) games, what switch would be best?
  3. How difficult is it to replace the switches on the Razer v4 75% keyboard? Is it easy pop off and pop on?

Thank you for your time to read and help me with this. Want to know what I am getting myself into before I splurge $180 for a new keyboard.

People who tried changing switches to different ones some considerable time ago (at least 1-2 monthjs) - have you experienced any issues since? I heard the problem isn’t the switches but the board.
I really love the idea of this keyboard, the desing and that it is hotswap and all; and I want to stick to my razer ecosystem (still like it despite countless flaws) - but if inevitably the board was to be blamed, I wouldn’t buy this piece

edit: I don’t mind buying and changing switches at all, there’s a reason why I’m interested in a hotswap razer. But I understand it is not to many people’s liking and a barebones version would be amazing

I have the same issue after ~ 2 months of use, initially only the R key started double typing now its the A and the E...this is absolutely disgusting aand unaceptable for a 200 EUR keyboard...if I have to buy new swwitches to solve this problem why the f did I buy this piece of craap to begin with?

Check your Razer Synapse. The keyboard might have a macro saved on the key. Just need to remove the macro.

Same issue. Ticket ignored. Given the only apparent fix is to replace Razer’s switches with some other model, at our own cost, this is clearly a defective product and should be refunded in full, warranty status regardless. My final Razer product, ever.

UPDATE 22. SEPTEMBER 2024

Almost 1 year ago I bought this piece of garbage. And here is my last update.

Today I lost my patient with this product and Razer. Gateron milky yellow switches are double clicking too. Guys it is not Windows OS, it is not Synapse, it is not the switches. IT IS THIS F***ING KEYBOARD. Tomorrow I am contacting my local dealer to get my money back!

Check out Keychron as a good alternative. A bit more expensive, yes, but much higher build quality and functionality without all the Razer glitches. Built like a tank, full hot-swap on switches and caps, very free macro capabilities and custimizations. I picked up 2 K10’s and replaced switches and feel like I’ll never need another keyboard. Never going back to Razer’s overpriced and poorly supported products.

Well thanks for the tip. I know they are good. But i have spent a lot of money on this one and wasn't planning on buying 2. I hope new switched can solve it. Not shure.

If you still have your warranty, RMA the keyboard, get a new one and sell it ASAP. Razer is garbage.

I thought changing switches out would solve the issue too, but after extended use, my Gateron Milky Yellows also started having doubled key entry issues. Thankfully, this software solution has been a good solution, and I can enjoy my keyboard again.
